is jerry west still GM at memphis? I smell shennanigans.
I know it's not NBA, but this is basketball related and I couldn't find an NCAA b-ball thread, but this is pretty damn funny.

I'll bet the Spurs bore the nation to another championship this year. No one wants to talk about them. They have zero "flash", but are the most solid team in the NBA me thinks.
Even though my Warriors lost, that was a great game last night between the Suns and Warriors. It's as though the Suns said "thanks for the trade Mr. Kerr, now we're going to sit Shaq in the second half and go with our pre-trade team and beat the Warriors".
Amare's dunk near the end was filthy-sick.
The refs were bad, I thought they were especially rough on the Suns, but the really called a bad game both ways. The warriors would have won if it wasnt for that teeny tiny, but kinda important, thing called the second half. Amare really stepped up and was the kind of player everyone expects and knows he can be. And oh yeah, whoever that Canadian guy is kinda came alive and I think might be a decent player. Ya know, eventually. Nash caught fire right when it mattered most. Which is what champions tend to do. I say look out for the Suns. They only had shaq on the bench becuase of foul trouble. He needs to be in there to stop the slashers of the other team. He would have been far more succesful in they game was called better. He was letting the elbow fly though! I love it! If the Suns can play small AND big. Look the fuck out.
*edit: I knew I shouldnt have talked smack, but the Warriors have done so well against the Suns this year. still... shoulda known.
22 games is 22 games. That is astounding. There's a reason why no one other than that golden Lakers team has had a streak that long. And to think this Rockets team pulled it off... it definitely deserves respect.
Sure, they took advantage of a softer schedule, but they did beat some quality opponents:
Golden State
Cleveland x 2
Portland
New Orleans x 2
Dallas
LA Lakers
With that said, this team is going to crap out hard come playoff time (if they get there).
For your health
so, is the 22 game winning streak snapped? who did they lose to?
Upcoming Shows:
Pitchfork Festival: 7/19 @ Union Park
Mountain Oasis Festival: 10/25-27
no way they would beat Boston...those guys deserve it... 22 is still HIGHLY impressive... alot more skilled in basketball to keep that up. Arent Miami doing a streak like that aswell? but losing though.

You have to give, at least, SOME credit for a 22 game win streak. Damn..even the best teams in the NBA have off nights once in a while and lose to shitty teams. I mean the Suns have lost to my Twolves TWICE this year for fuck's sake.
The Western Conference's playoff race is nuts:
You Lakers' fans better hope Gasol isn't hurt for an extended amount of time, a couple losses and you're dropping down to 7th in the West.
COACHELLA '07, '08, '09, '11, '13
Still, that was impressive. And, they were without Yao.
Suns, seem to have put it together. Been playing MUCH better D. Last night was inanely sloppy, but they pulled out the win. 3 weeks ago, they would have lost that game.
Technically, they were without Yao for 10 of those games. But a 10 game winning streak without him is very impressive.
Suns are starting to look like they might have things figured out. Hopefully Bell isn't out long. He is all we have on the defensive end.

Lakers.
woo!
Another reason I dont want Houston to make the playoffs is I don't think their fans deserve it. If my team was about to lose their 1st game out of 23 I would stick around and salute what an awesome job they had done for the past couple of months. The Rockets stadium was empty near the end of the 4th. Pathetic.
My Warriors just put up 72 in the first half against the Lakers -- yes!
last night on my way home I was listening to the Detroit broadcast of the Suns/Pistons game on Sirius. Even the Detroit announcers thought the Suns got screwed by the refs on that no-call against McDyess hacking Shaq late in the 4th. Except they were laughing about it, not getting all indignant like Al McCoy does.
Knowing Shaquille, he probably would have sunk those free throws.
SUNS definitely got jobbed last night by the refs. That Shaq non-call was ajoke...they were TRYING to foul him! BUT, if Hill hits those two free throws late, SUNS are up by 7 with about 2 minutes left. But, he missed both, and Sheed hits a three to cut it to a 2 point game. It was all down hill from there...
