If the Celtics can't land/sign K-Love and lock-up Rondo to an extension, they might as well trade the latter for prospects/picks and go harder into the tank for 2015 by playing all the kiddos all the time.

They really screwed up last season by winning too many meaningless games.

Houston will match for him, they have made that pretty clear. Since he knows that he just wanted to sign with the team that was going to give him the most money.

How does this effect the Rockets pursuit of Bosh? With Houston only having 72 hours to match Parsons (which I agree they would ideally like to do) can they still squeeze Bosh in?

They can only afford one, if Bosh doesn't make up his mind within 72 hours they will just match Parsons and be done with it... Not sure what the fuck Bosh is waiting for, I understand he prefers to play with Lebron but his presence in the Rockets offense will allow him to be much more effective, the max contract offer is something he more than likely will not get from any other team (let alone Miami), there is no state tax, AND the fucker is from Texas (he supposedly spends a good amount of his off-season there). This is one of the more obvious win/win situations I have seen in NBA free agency.

I've already pre-warned my friends and family that they'll have to put up with me being a Cavs fan again. I hate to bandwagon, but for some reason I find it easy in basketball. I'm all "Price, Daugherty, Nance... yay Cavs! None of those guys? Seeya later. Lebron Yay! No Lebron boo. Lebron Yay again!"

In football it's always "Damn you Browns for breaking my heart again."

Kyrie, LeBron, and Wiggins? Not to mention being able to see a healthy and in shape Bennett can bring to the table. I think it is safe to say Cleveland's run of number one overall draft pick is now over.

Since we managed to get a first round pick it's actually a pretty good deal for the Lakers. Four years ago if you would have told me that our two PGs were going to Jeremy Lin and Steve Nash I probably would have been excited about that idea.

A first round that will basically be a 2nd round pick?

Houston dumped their bad contracts to take on Bosh and match the Parsons deal...they're going deep in the playoffs

Not at all this is a terrible trade. Who needs a draft pick from a championship contender?

A lot of quality draft prospects went in the 20s this year and we desperately needed to add more pics. Phoenix will most likely end up with our other 1st rounder. That seems like more than a fair price for carrying an $8 million salary for one season.

Your McDonalds expert analysis continues to baffle me. Lakers just helped the team that Dwight Howard ditched them for. Now Houston has the cap space to sign Bosh and Parsons. No NBA team should have bailed Houston out because Lin is just not talented

You seem like the kind of guy who's frequently baffled by simple concepts, but honestly the only thing I know about you is that you're a fan of terrible music and pointless arguments so I won't engage you further. Rebuilding teams need draft picks. We basically had no selections in 2015, now we have one. Moving on...

If they really wanted drafted picks they could've done a sign and trade on Gasol getting much more in return. This is just a cop out excuse now to not acquire a PG. Bro the last time a Chinese performed at an exceptional level in sports in Los Angeles was Jackie Chan in Rush Hour.

Cavs should sign Gasol to the MLE and then trade for Love. Klein's suicide watch would begin.

The Lakers care more about themselves then Houston. They get a player that helps fill out the roster with only one year left on the contract so it doesn't fuck with future cap space. Plus they get a first rounder, while yes it will be a low pick, is still better then the no pick they would have had. Overall I think it's a great trade for them. Linsanity isn't the most desirable piece but this trade wasn't about that.

Who says they still aren't going to sign and trade Gasol. Why is this option off the table as I have yet to hear that he has signed somewhere.

Unit, this is my opinion, only teams that settle for losing make moves like that. This is basketball, not baseball or football. You don't have to look that far down the line to become a winning team. Look at the Celtics, the Heat, and the Lakers from 2008 on.

No you don't have to look that far down the line I agree. However with LeBron in Cleveland and Melo either going to the Bulls or staying in NY there aren't any other players that will make them an immediate title contender. So next option is to prepare for the next round of free agency. That will be next year and then 2016 so it's important to keep that cap space open. Yes they can theoretically trade to bring a guy in however they have zero assets to trade with so who is going to want to trade with them at the moment? Yes they can sign and trade Pau still but lets face it, he isn't going to bring in anything more then an expiring contract (Boozer) and a draft pick or two, which would probably be another low pick.

Best thing about Bosh going back to the Heat is that newly acquired low first round pick the Lakers received from Houston just got a little bit higher.

Yeah the Heat lost LeBron but Between Bosh, Wade (figuring his knees are fine), a healthy Granger, McRoberts, and Nappier and if they land Deng that will be a competitive team in the East still. Also I find it funny the Cavs own the Heat's first round next year from the sign and trade for LeBron from 4 years ago.

Listened to some analysts and am staggered at the complete lack of scepticism about the motives behind LBJ's move and handling of it. The dude was a FREE agent and has the right to do whatever is best for him - but why did none of them mention that this was a move made for basketball reasons - Miami are falling & Cleveland are loaded with young talent and was a great PR move - both the move and the execution? They are all banging on about the emotional reasons - the "pull of home" and some claiming it to be an altruistic move when LeBron just did what is best for LeBron's image and long term basketball future. To be clear I don't begrudge him doing so but be real about the reasons why.
