This is just about spot on. Both of them were pretty much shitheads. Jordan just happened to be the more talented shithead.

I still can't believe the Cavs traded Ron Harper for Danny Ferry... and still made the ECF in 1992. One of the worst trades in any sport ever.
    fuck.

Like many fine teams from the era, the Cavs just ran into the Jordan/Pippen Bulls buzzsaw. Brad Daugherty was always one of my favorite players as a kid. I remember Gerald Wilkins was thought to be the closest thing there was to a Jordan stopper, until Jordan put an end to that nonsense.

I would be doing a disservice to this discussion if I didn't bring up the '96 Sonics. An excellent team that ran into the 72-win Bulls in the Finals. The '93 Sonics that took Phoenix to 7 games in the WCF were pretty damn good, too. Let's not talk about the '94 Sonics. In any case, fuck Clay Bennett, fuck David Stern, fuck Howard Schultz, and fuck OKC.

Also, Tommy, my position on who I would take #1 fluctuates but as of now it goes -

    1. Embiid (If back checks out. Big if.)
    2. Wiggins
    3. Parker

I have watched a lot of Embiid on film in the last few weeks, both college and prep. As far as natural gifts, he is a once-in-a-generation big man. I don't think I have seen a prospect with Embiid's skill-set since Duncan. Plus, he's barely scratching the surface. But that back injury is scary at this stage.

I put Wiggins over Parker becase of Wiggins potential, athleticism, wing-span and defense. Although Parker is right in the same class in those catergories and has a bigger frame. I have a tough time deciding between those two, but Embiid would be the unquestionable top pick if he never got injured. He could be a franchise-changer for whatever team gets him.
    fuck.

I wouldn't have a problem with either Embiid or Wiggins. Wiggins has a higher bust potential than does Parker, but I also think Wiggins has a higher superstar potential. And I'm a gambling man, so I'd take the player with superstar potential. If there's one thing we know about the NBA, it's that the teams with the superstars with the rings. A great player can swing things more so in the NBA than in any other sport. Plus, you know how I feel about defense, and Wiggins is the superior defender.

    Magic $5
    Jordan $5
    Pippen $1
    Nowitzki $2
    O'neal $2

But really Duncan and Dirk are the top 2 power forwards on that list so it was a lot easier

If we're allowed to double up on positions....

    Jordan - $5
    LeBron - $5
    Pippen - $1
    Duncan - $3
    Hakeem - $1

Defense, scoring, passing, leadership, and championship pedigrees

I'm surprised more people aren't picking Magic, imo PG has the biggest drop off in talent on that list.

I don't think that was the original intent, but you definitely maximized value across the board.

You must've missed the '95 finals sweep.

Although both centers played well, Olajuwon is generally considered to have outplayed O'Neal. Olajuwon outscored O'Neal in every game of the series and became one of the few players in NBA history to score at least 30 points in every game of an NBA Finals series:[4][5]

    1995 NBA Finals Gm 1 Gm 2 Gm 3 Gm 4 Totals
    Hakeem Olajuwon 31 34 31 35 32.8 ppg
    Shaquille O'Neal 26 33 28 25 28.0 ppg

I was gonna mention that. Hakeem Olajuwon had some silky moves though. Best foot work for a big man let alone anybody who has ever played. that's tough man, real tough. But i gotta stick with prime shaq.

I see you are as knowledgeable about basketball as you are about music and anything else you talk about. Let us know when NOVA comes to film a segment about the bitter loneliness of the stupid man.

You think Shaq is so great, and yet you have to make excuses for his early career before he had Kobe's coat tails to ride on.

I think you're just mad because the Lakers have shattered the Suns chances many times at winning a championship, so now you're just trying to beat around the bush the fact that Johnson and Shaq are just plain better
