Kobe Bryant will not make the NBA finals again for the rest of his career.

I think they will, but I don't think this is the kind of team that will make it that far in the playoffs, unless they were in the Eastern Conference, where the bar is set low enough to step over.

I said the finals not the playoffs.

He's going to become a washed up has been by the end of the ridiculous contract he just signed. If he makes it that far.

I watched the Kings / Mavs game last night. Peter is probably a little agitated that Derrick Williams went for 31.

The Kings could get real interesting, real quick, as long as Rudy accepts his role with this team. He's not entirely as much as a "chucker" as his critics make him out to be, Toronto was pretty limited offensively to begin with.

Derek Williams needs to continue to be the 6th man, his lack of consistency is still his biggest weakness.

Anyone watch the Warriors vs. Mavs game tonight? Steph Curry is clutch. One of the greatest shooters of all time.

How apropos Monta missed a lead taking jumper on one end, then Curry drains it with a second left on the other. Not sure why Dirk didn't get any touches in the last minute when he's normally the closer. Maybe Carlisle gave it to Ellis, who I think went 1-3 during that span, cus it was a GS homecoming (fail).

Some good sports on tonight. Clips @ Brooklyn. Bolts @ Denver (broncs favored by 10.5? I'd put money on SD for this one. Season is on the line. No Welker for DEN and they've pretty much wrapped up the AFC owning the tiebreaker over KC).

Monta did hit a game winner against Portland earlier in the week. I haven't seen Dirk at all this year, is he finally coming around again?

If it was based on how this season was going, it would be the best of the west vs. the Pacers & The Heat.

Hey, John Wall has been playing pretty damn good so far this season. I would say he would get the nod as point guard (not counting Lebron as a PG though). Got to give my Zards some love since they haven't been completely terrible this year so far.

They haven't, by Eastern Conference standards, but the bar is quite low there. Outside of Miami, Indiana, and even Atlanta, most of the East teams rank below the Lakers (.476). To be fair though, the West still has the worst team in the league (Jazz).

Kobe's extension was just an investment in the Laker brand, nothing more. Time Warner picked a horrible time to build an entire sports network around a team that is rebuilding with no draft picks and it's pretty hard to justify that kind of exposure if you don't have any superstars. As long as Kobe is on the roster he will generate interest in the team whether he's on the court or not, but his contract will probably ensure that the Lakers won't be contenders until 2017-18. I envy the Celtics.

Maybe the lottery system does need changing, but to this proposed system? No. This system could keep some teams down longer if they get a top pick in an "off" year

    Yeah, that sounds awful.

I'd rather they reduce the number of lottery teams by about half, and then give every team the same chance at winning...so no "weighting".

as it is, the Lakers right now are so injury plagued its hard to let go of Gasol for trash

along with Bynum's contract, the only Cav players that will be included are Alonzo Gee or CJ Miles (also expiring)

knowing Mitch though he's trying to get some young talent or a 1st round pick in return
in other words Lakers have no leverage in this trade unless he works out some magic
