We did need to get rid of Ellis but I like Udoh. Guess this means we're officially tanking the season. Supposedly Biedrins said of this trade, "If we’re giving up, I can feel my hip hurting already.”

I understand hat GSW needed to get rid of Monta, likely weren't getting substantial bites and wanted to get something for him but throwing Udoh into the deal and ending up with an inactive Bogut and the return of Cap'n Jax seems retarded. Am I missing something?

Watching the media talk to Monta. He said he found out from television.

Well considering Bogut has another 2 years left on his contract just think long term. Warriors had no shot this season anyways

You're telling me that GS couldn't at least attempt to pursue Ilyasova?

They probably did, but no way Bucks would give him up, especially with Bogut out. They're trying to beat out the Knicks for the 8 spot, so unlike GS they're in the playoff hunt.

Ya good call think of all the long-term injuries he's yet to have had!

Where the fuck was Golden State going with Monta Ellis, anyway? It was time to let go of that dead weight and try something new. In this case, that means tanking the season and hoping a draft pick and a healthy Andrew Bogut can help change the culture of the team. It's cliche, but sometimes you have to take 1 step back to take 2 steps forward. Blow shit up and try again.

This though. Everyone is bitching about letting Ellis go. He was a good offense player, but overrated as a whole.

How does a team out of the playoff picture tank?

Bogut, Jackson > Ellis, Udoh, Brown

If the pick is 8th or later, the Jazz get the pick. They should lose as much as possible to keep the top 7 protected pick.

The Jazz own their pick but it's top 7 protected so there is that to consider.

Bogut may not return this season, though. That's a factor in why it's pretty that clear Golden State did not have the rest of this season in mind when making this trade.

Which makes the trade even better on their behalf. Unless they really wanted to get swept by OKC in the first round.

2 OTs, no Rudy Gay and a 34-5 FTA discrepancy will do that.

Duh. They have to implant Curry's bionic ankle, Bogut's techno-organic arm.

    HELLOOOOOOO BROOKLYN!!!

Dwight Howard New Jersey Nets t-shirt was briefly available in NBA’s online store

Are you into conspiracy theories and NBA basketball? If so, you’ve come to the right place.

Late Tuesday night, a link began circulating on Twitter to a page on the NBA’s online store that would allow you to buy a New Jersey Nets t-shirt, as if Dwight Howard — of the Orlando Magic currently, but not expected to be after the season, and also kind of in limbo until Thursday’s trade deadline — was now a member of that organization.

It has since been taken down, but as the screen shot accompanying this post shows, it was indeed live.

Howard, of course, has not yet been dealt anywhere, and the latest comments from him suggest he’d prefer to remain in Orlando to finish out the season. But all signs point to his wanting to be in New Jersey next season, so this curious quirk in the NBA Store’s online inventory has, of course, raised some eyebrows.

There are many possible legitimate explanations for this, and it’s unclear how exactly one would have arrived at this destination by starting from the store.nba.com home page to begin with.

But the facts are these: At the time of this writing, there was a live link, at the NBA’s official online store, which specifically mentions Dwight Howard as a member of the New Jersey Nets. The item description read, “The player’s number is subject to change, and the T-shirt will not ship until the official number is issued.”

    Draw your own conclusions.

In unrelated news, Phil Jackson is letting all calls from the 212 area code go to voicemail.

Time for Van Gundy to make his triumphant return!

Honestly, I'd go after Jerry Sloan.

Isn't there someone older than Sloan they can hire? What about a reanimated Red Holzman?

Okay, I knew Sloan was old, but I didn't know he's turning 70.
