08 COACHELLA HEADLINER PREDICTIONS!

The idea of Radiohead playing Sasquatch is ridiculous and this talk should just end now as its not feasible. How the hell is Sasquatch supposed to make money with a 20k capacity and having two very expensive headliners? You would also have to ask why? why would sasquatch pay for radiohead when they already have one huge headliner and they can probably sell out both days by just getting REM or something like that.

Sasquatch make (and I'm assuming it's them and not Farmer Joe ) a ton of money from camping tix. Probably 50%+ of people that go camp right there as it's out in the middle of nowhere. I camp and I like it even if you have to be judicious as to when you use the shitters.

I bring my camp stove and heat up premade dinners right beside my tent before I go into the fest. Fajita chicken w/rice and a couple of cold Deschutes beers ........ YUM. I brought two coolers; one beer, one water/juice. It's VERY relaxed in the campground. No open fires and no obviously large & loud partygroup and you're good to go. The big downer at Sasquatch is the lack of showers; there is only one shower block with 6 stalls each for the mens/womens. 90mins is an average wait with no guarantee of even warm water.

Practically anyone since they have the Cure headlining one day who can probably sell out the first day all by themselves. Kanye West, The Foo Fighters, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, maybe Muse if they don't stop touring. The White Stripes perhaps if they decide to make up some of their tour dates and tour in the spring.

I actually was thinking about that after I thought about. Muse could possibly. The White Stripes would be awesome actually. Kanye West could. Ew. No Thanks. The thought of the Killers occured to me too... it would take some REALLY good support acts to make me wanna go to Day 1 if that were the case. I also thought about Franz Ferdinand, but they would probably get the Arcade Fire/Interpol slot.

Not necessarily. Bjork headlined both Sasquatch & Coach. But yeah, I'd like to see REM again. Only saw them once, in '99.

Muse, too. I guess this goes along with what I figured about Coldplay coldplaying live again next summer. But Coachella may be too soon, I guess it depends on when they finish that album. I know X&Y didn't come out until well after Coachella, but I think it was already completed at that point. Hmm.

Any guesses as to any possible "came out of nowhere" reunions a la Rage? We already know The Smiths and Pink Floyd will never happen. Pulp would be amazing, but they'd have second billing since it's America. Talking Heads would make everyone shit themselves and guarantee an instant sellout. Led Zeppelin is way too big. Could Neil Young headline? Morrissey? Could those No Doubt and Green Day rumors be true?

Well, the thing about headliners is that they cost a lot of money to see. Coachella costs a lot of money to attend. It boils down to math.

My rule of thumb is add up how much it would cost to see the bands I saw if I were to see them individually (taking discounts for set length and so on). If all the headliners are shit, then the total is going to be pretty low. Lower than what it cost to attend Coachella. So worthwhile headliners and subheadliners balance things out and can even make Coachella a bargain. Tickets to Arcade Fire, Daft Punk, Bjork, etc are $50-90 each.

But of course, the most important thing is acts I might not see anywhere else (Jarvis Cocker, Daft Punk, Faithless, etc).

Ditto. In the last three or four years, I've rarely ventured from the tents, and haven't watched a headliner since Radiohead.

I think it's too soon for Coldplay to headline again. Maybe Wilco would have some chances to come back too? Oasis were there on 2002, I'd say they have more chances to headline again than Coldplay.

foo fighters are out cuz they are in australia

honestly the headliners dont mean much to me, its the 30-40 mid range bands that will sell me or not..

but just for fun im going with these 3 for now... but who knows..................... its all good!
