So, who thinks they'll play My Father My King at some point during the tour when I see them? I need to see that song live once again. It's a spectacle.

When I saw them do Curiosa, I had only read about them and listened to Happy Songs. I had heard that they play long, very loud sets. At Curiosa, they opened with Hunted By a Freak and two other short songs, and I was convinced that I wasn't seeing the band I had heard about. Then, they started My Father My King and it lasted over half an hour. I was blown away, and asked everyone around me if they knew what song it was. They could only remember that it was The Hebrew Song, and that it was one of the most miraculous live experiences possible. They had my clothes and hair flapping in the sound during it.

Mogwai has had 4 shows this year, 1 of which was last night and is not completely accounted for. Here is what they have played thus far:

    batcat (3 shows)
    friend of the night (3)
    hunted by a freak (3)
i love you, i'm going to blow up your school (3)
    i'm jim morrison, i'm dead (3)
    scotland's shame (3)
    thank you space expert (3)
    the precipice (3)
    we're no here (3)
    like herod (2)
    2 rights make 1 wrong (2)
    ithica 27o9 (1)
may nothing but happiness come through your door (1)
    secret pint (1)
    stanley kubrick (1)
    summer (1)
    tracy (1)

I wish I could have seen them last year when they reintroduced Superheroes of BMX back into the setlists. Looks like there won't be much room in it this time around. At least I am getting to see them this time around. I will take what I can get.

Every time I have seen them, I have been lucky enough to hear Mogwai Fear Satan. It needs to happen again.

Dumb question: I'm not a Mogwai fan--do they ever play "Death is the Road to Awe" live? (I love The Fountain sndtrk)

I'm gonna say no. I believe the Fountain Soundtrack was them with The Kronos Quartet, so it's highly unlikely that they'd do that.

Agreed. I think it will come in due time. These are just random one off shows, so they are probably just trying out the new songs live. By the time they tour, we should get some more diversity.
