Wow, and I thought the Mayan show had a good setlist. Awesome!
I came here to post that, as I got a setlist as well, but I see that is not necessary. Did I briefly talk to you about the security guard being a dick for not giving it to me and mention that I went last night as well?
Anyways... awesome show yet again. Seeing Mogwai two nights in a row, as I did for their last two tours here, really pays off. I liked tonight's setlist more, but last night might have been a tad more intense. That may have had to do with my location though, last night I just got sucked into the music and tonight I was in front of the stage, so I focused a lot on who was playing what and taking some pictures.
Killing All the Flies and Hunted By a Freak in exchange for I Know You Are But What Am I? is a good trade. So is Auto Rock for Friend of the Night. Helicon and Satan remained. Glasgow Megasnake is essentially a shorter version of Batcat (I do like the latter better, but the difference is negligible). They dropped Lionel Ritchie, which is hardly a catastrophe. This is pretty easy math here.
Kevin Tong Mayan show poster on sale now. $30. Go.

Cool video thanks for posting.

Jesus Christ. They were just added to that Corona Capital festival. What a fucking lineup. This is almost enough to make me want to risk my life and travel to Mexico.

fuck.
I was in a bus going to Mexico City ten years ago, and when we went over the grade and began our descent into the city it smelled like the nastiest sewer ever. It took a good day to get used to. But, the best Mexican food I've had in my life was there. And the best club I've ever been to was there, too. So it has its upside.

Dance with hot spanish woman all night long?
Mexican women, but yeah. The club was called Le Boom. They had this stage where you would dance and rain would fall from above and you'd get soaked, but then walk like 10 feet back and there were these high powered fans that shot up from beneath the floor and you'd just hover over them and be dry in no time.

He's going by the language they speak. So in that sense, if you go to a club in LA you're dancing with English women.

New Mogwai EP by September:
Mogwai have announced that they will release a new EP this fall. Titled Earth Division, the EP will be released on September 13 via Sub Pop in the US and a day earlier via the band's own Rock Action Records in the UK.
Mogwai released their seventh studio album, Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will, earlier this year, making 2011 an unusually productive year for the band.
Earth Division Track Listing:
1. Get To France
2. Hound Of Winter
3. Drunk And Crazy
4. Does This Always Happen?
I am excited for this EP:
Having thus far enjoyed a monumental year, with a sold out world tour and the release of the superb and critically acclaimed 7th studio album, Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will, Mogwai are ready to embark upon another chapter. The band are set to release their Earth Division EP, which carries 4- brand new tracks, highlighting a creative departure from the band’s trademark cinematic mantra of pulverizing, scorched guitar riffage, into a more recontextualised domain of hazy electronic distortion, accompanied by spiky wafts of violins, violas, cellos and double bass and jagged keys.
Earth Division discretely demonstrates another side of Mogwai’s stratospheric level of brilliance with its ever-rotating, hypnotic soundtracks that drift dreamy into force, while adsorbing into the paranormal. The EP is a collaboration of barded guitar distortion and haunting piano, which might offer the listener something different, but it still carries the band’s hallmarks.
