    Default a MICHAEL JACKSON thread

So did anyone see Bad 25 (the Spike Lee documentary on the album) that came out last year? In the states, a 64 minute version aired on ABC on Thanksgiving. The full version is 2 hours (aired in Germany and UK. DVD out this summer).

Also, the Bad Tour @ Wembley DVD? (Such a controversial topic amongst fans, in regards to quality).

Anyhoo, here's him performing Man In The Mirror on the final (123rd) show of the Bad Tour in L.A.

    Bad Tour was his best.

As a kid i got to be on the field as part of the halftime show he did at the super bowl. To get a taste of the view he had was amazing, have never heard a crowd as loud as that one, either. Good times.

Can you find yourself in the broadcast of the performance?

And I didn't really like his Superbowl performance, though.
Putting aside the lip synching (which he got too comfortable with from 1992 and on), it was just ok (as far as MJ goes).

Though, I'm sure it was awesome to actually be there in person!

I heard he used to lip synch with children too.

Haven't seen it in a looong time, but I believe I caught a glimpse of myself. Wore a yellow sweatshirt to try to stand out. Was actually pretty cool day. Got in due to my lung disease. NFL had a ton of local charities select kids from the area to be a part of it, got to go up a few days before the game for rehearsal, hang out on the field. Game day we got there and had great seats in the end zone for the game.

Does anyone want an incredibly realistic, life-size bust of a Michael Jackson head?
    Nothing creepy about that...

Yes, they really are. But there would be something very creepy about having a lifesize bust of ANYONE in my home.
I'd constantly glance at it in my periph and go "gaah!", before remembering it's fake.

    Happy Happy Birthday, MJ!

In other news, Timbaland is working on some MJ tracks given to him by the estate for the next album they are putting out.

Apparently this guy's mother used to go by the name "Billie" back in 1982. Apparently DNA evidence shows Michael Jackson was his father.

"new" MJ track from a new album, Xscape, coming May 13th.

Love Never Felt So Good (ft. Justin Timberlake) (it's really good!)

XSCAPE will feature 8 unreleased songs re-worked by various producers (Timbaland, Darkchild, J-Roc, L.A. Reid, Stargate, Jon McClain).
The deluxe edition will feature the original, untouched versions of the songs.

It's pretty good, but I can see why it didn't make it onto an album.

I've enjoyed it too, but for me "Love Never Felt So Good" is the only one in which the remake improves the original track.

Xscape is actually a lot of fun. A Place With No Name is my fave after one listen.

That's what I want, even if I'll play the bonus disc more than the formal album.

I really, really love the new album.
It's cool that they included the original demos, too.

But I'm rocking the fuck out of the updated versions

I much prefer the original song "Xscape" to the updated one, though. The original one has been floating around the internets for years, though.

Just found this - the man is obviously a genius, even post-mortem: http://www.statista.com/chart/1959/t...umous-earners/
He made a solid 160m$ last year.

Michael Jackson was a boring talk shot on KABC. On the plus side, at least he was not right wing.

So tomorrow night at the Billboard Awards, there will be a Michael Jackson "hologram" (or a projection, if you wanna be picky about it).

I believe it will be him performing Slave To The Rhythm from the new Xscape album.

    Well that kind of sucked.

It blatantly looked like an impersonator. Maybe they did some cgi trickery on an impersonators face or something, but even then they didn't do a good job.

It differed from the Tupac one because it was basically one huge screen/set as opposed to making it appear a live person is interacting with a dead one.
