I'm travelling for work and just paid 35 dollars for a 1/2 litre of wine via room service. I feel dirty.

    Very much agree with this....

My confession for today: I have listened TomAz's mix on repeat since 10 am...

I like this. But I will say that I prefer songs that remind me of a time and place in my past. Perhaps an event, perhaps just the mindset I had in my youth...before I got all jaded.

Confession: I'm generally a pretty emotionless a-hole, but every once in a blue moon, I'll put on a Christian CD that I used to listen to when I was 15, back when I was into that scene, was idealistic, had my whole life in front of me, and a sense of wide-eyed wonder about the world...and I'll bawl my eyes out, wishing for just a day that I could be that person again.

You're severely overthinking it. I've been thoroughly agnostic for a solid decade now.

Ohhh, so you're going to try to trip me up on the definition of it. Gotcha.

Well, in case you actually care about what I believe, as opposed to just trying to mock me (unlikely, but I'll play)... each of us is one person amongst 6+ billion on a planet, which revolves around 1 of 100-200 billion known stars in our galaxy, which is 1 of an estimated 200-400 billion galaxies in the universe (running the numbers from memory, don't fucking nitpick). Our place on this universe is so unimaginably small, the universe so vast, that it's arrogant to think that our small human brains have any concept of our place in it, the existence of a "god", other dimensions, etc. what-the-fuck-ever.

I have no clue what our place in the universe is, if there's anything past us, what it all means, etc., and I'm completely fine with it. I call it agnostic. You can call is Georgina, for all I care. Not a single fuck will be given.

Ramb: Not believing in Jesus is what has brought you to this state of self loathing, you must find Christ, you must give him your love.

The confession wasn't that you were in the Christian music teen scene, but that you miss the love of Jesus and wish it to be back in your life so that you may have hope while you wait for the heavenly Father to return.

    Seek Him!

Glad to see that even though a philosophy or theology degree doesn't lead to any material job opportunities, at least it allows you to have a smug sense of superiority. Happy it's working out well for you!

I'm actually thinking about joining Charlene's cult. We're going to end racism through raving. Charlene is the 3rd coming. Jesus is so 20th century.

Isn't it more unusual to be in your 30s rebelling against something you believed as a teenager than to believe something as a teenager?

It's been there from the beginning.. the weak Britpop headliners Friday; the rumors that DP was gonna play, that it was a done deal, then all of a sudden 'oops, no, not gonna happen'; and now the new album. It's all so obvious.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agnosticism

Agnosticism is the view that the truth values of certain claims—especially claims about the existence or non-existence of any deity, but also other religious and metaphysical claims—are unknown or unknowable.

    Me:
Our place on this universe is so unimaginably small, the universe so vast, that it's arrogant to think that our small human brains have any concept of our place in it, the existence of a "god", other dimensions, etc. what-the-fuck-ever.
Funny, since what I said is pretty much precisely the definition of agnosticism. First line of the definition. Ergo, fuck off, pompous asshat.

Agnosticism has nothing to do with the universe being vast or other dimensions. It is a simple stance that the human capabilities of perception are too limited to possibly consider any of our opinions about the existence or non-existence of a deity to be worth anything. It is merely the acknowledgement that our five senses are not effective enough to be considered a valid means of determining the reality of God.

    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
