Minigolf implies "golf" which means you must be using several different kinds of clubs. Maybe they are smaller than normal clubs, hence the mini. I dont know. It must hurt your back and be tough to hit those par 5's if you are playing minigolf with miniclubs.

But for the activity discussed in this thread, the name is putt-putt because that is what you are doing: putting.

there's a few in the bay area (fairfield, vacaville I think, place up by santa rosa, and probably more). It's like one of those family fun kinda places...they offer batting cages, go carts, arcade, bumper boats, and a huge big ol miniature golf course. I haven't been in like 12-15 years, but its fun from what I remember.
