Oh, sorry, I didn't realize that you're seventeen years old. Lemme guess, you've been taking lessons (maybe) for like two, three years tops? And frankly, no, they're not. They're great, and they're legends, but 4/4 time rock drumming is fucking boring. When you learn how to play a polyrhythm or two or someone finally clues you in to the fact that anyone who actually knows drumming knows that 90 percent of the most talented drummers in the world play almost exclusively jazz, get back to me.

Right, because Buddy Rich is the jazz drummer that everyone in the fucking world has heard of, because he was a legend more than half a decade ago and influenced the world of drumming tremendously. Listing Buddy Rich as evidence that you know anything about who good drummers are is like a guitarist bringing up Jimi Hendrix.

For the longest time, I thought Tool were pretty good. I wasnt a huge fan... but I owned Aenema, because that album is amazing. Other than that, I just thought they were pretty good.

Then in 2006 they announced a summer tour, with vancouver being one of the dates. To make a long story short. I didnt buy tickets. Then, they day of the show (August 22) I found myself at home with nothing to do. So I think to myself, "What they hell, why not go to Tool?" So I called up a bunch of friends, and one of my buddies who had NEVER been a concert before, said he was up for it. So I threw Aenema in the car and drove down to the stadium. I was able to score side stage seats for face value...

My mind was fucking blown by that show. Like. It was intenesly amazing. It is for sure on my top 5 concerts of all time. I dont even know what it is about them. They are just phenomenal musicians. And Maynard has such amazing stage presence. Since then, I have become a huge Tool fan and was even debating flying down to LA, JUST for the Tool halloween show. But funds would not allow. I want to see them live again, SO badly.

No, you're just clearly don't know much. You're still in the beginning stages of learning to play, and you went with a bunch of safe, revered choices that only a beginner would list. And that's fine, 'cause you're new to it, that's what happens. But don't act like you really know anything and list the fucking guy from Deep Purple.

You say Lateralus is boring? I'd bet you any amount of money in the world that you couldn't learn to play Carey's part in that song with two months to practice. You couldn't even count out the time sig. Go ask your drum teacher about Danny Carey and see what he has to say.
