Right, because Buddy Rich is the jazz drummer that everyone in the fucking world has heard of, because he was a legend more than half a decade ago and influenced the world of drumming tremendously. Listing Buddy Rich as evidence that you know anything about who good drummers are is like a guitarist bringing up Jimi Hendrix.
For the longest time, I thought Tool were pretty good. I wasnt a huge fan... but I owned Aenema, because that album is amazing. Other than that, I just thought they were pretty good.
Then in 2006 they announced a summer tour, with vancouver being one of the dates. To make a long story short. I didnt buy tickets. Then, they day of the show (August 22) I found myself at home with nothing to do. So I think to myself, "What they hell, why not go to Tool?" So I called up a bunch of friends, and one of my buddies who had NEVER been a concert before, said he was up for it. So I threw Aenema in the car and drove down to the stadium. I was able to score side stage seats for face value...
My mind was fucking blown by that show. Like. It was intenesly amazing. It is for sure on my top 5 concerts of all time. I dont even know what it is about them. They are just phenomenal musicians. And Maynard has such amazing stage presence. Since then, I have become a huge Tool fan and was even debating flying down to LA, JUST for the Tool halloween show. But funds would not allow. I want to see them live again, SO badly.
Tool fuckin kill.
Lateralus is a superb album. Anyone who says otherwise is not thinking straight. The Patient, Reflection, Triad, and more...c'mon now.
so naming a really good drummer,as an influence becomes void cause hes well known?
so i can only listen to drummers no one knows for inspiration?
is tool the only band with talent nowadays?
im the worst drummer in the world cause im not a fan of tool
is that right?
well ive been playing since i was 10
i like to think im passed the beginning stages
also i didnt list them cause i thought they were "safe"
bonham:
i love his grooves, his foot pedal work and his ability to improvise
ian paice:
hes a powerhouse drummer, hes got that 60's psychadellic jam drummer feel
whenever people hear his name they think smoke on the water, and base his skill on that personally i hate that song
highway star is the one u should listen to live
buddy rich: i list him cause when i was 10 my teacher said to listen to this guy, and ever since hes been my overall influence in jazz drumming
also i forgot to add Mickaël Shrieve
that guy had speed and awesome grooves
lateralus is boring
10,000 days was boring
aenima was the only good album
alright ill analyze4 two songs
the time sig starts in 3/4 then goes 5/4 then 3/4
then its 5/8 or 7/8 spread out or 12/8 i dunno sounds similiar
reflection is all 4/4
and traid
it kinda throws you off with his misplaced bass beats
but its 12/8 upuntil the solo
cause thats where i stopped listening
cause lateralus sucks
stinkfist is in the top 10 rock songs all time
Upcoming Shows:

Isnt there talk of a Halloween show in LA?
Gimme a break Rage, you know damn well you're praying for a Vancouver date, and rightfully so. It could be the last time for another 5 years. A little debt is always worth a priceless experience!
tool still sucks
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.A new post on Toolband/Army tells us that Tool will be touring later this year, but it won’t be in Australia:
Although no dates are officially confirmed at this point, it appears that TOOL will be touring the WEST COAST of the USA from mid-NOVEMBER until X-MAS. As soon as these shows are confirmed, I will post the dates and venues on the websites.
DOG WHAT IS UP WITH YOU PUTTING DOWN BANDS AND ASKING WHAT IS UP WITH THEM?!
on a calmer note-
i think that you cannot ask others what is up with a band or why they like them, because their opinion will differ from yours.
