I'm in tennies for now and have a change of chacha shoes in the car but my pants will be soaked...pluuu
it's been raining the past few weeks here. in fact, we had insane flooding a while back... like fucking 3 feet of water in some of the georgetown sodo parking lots.
I was supposed to move my amps and shit over to my new place but the rain is really fucking up my plans...
BOCK! You need a tarp! BOCK!
I hate this current batch of rain. It is made more intolerable due to the fact taht I do not have a car at the present time.
Do you take the bus or ride a bike? Are busses expensive to ride in Sherman Oaks? How long does it take you to get to the places you go on a regular basis, like grocery stores and soforth?
I bus it on the MTA, unfortunatley. I like the Orange Line that goes across the SAn Fernando Valley and he Metro Red Line, better known as the subway. I do not ride bikes because bicycle seats can lower your sperm count.
What's the funniest thing you've ever witnessed on the subway? You can see some pretty ridiculous things on public transportation.
I saw someone from the Socialist Workers Party try to hand a Young Republican some literature and the two got in a shoving match until some wino broke it up.
Wow. Was anybody hurt? Did you get any literature? Speaking of "literature", do you have any favorite authors?
Also, I am cracking up at the idea of these two well-dressed people (the Socialist Worker's Party member and the Young Republian) being told to behave by a wino. On a subway, no less. Oh, the anarchy beneath our feet...
I was a weird incident. As for books, I mostly read political nonfiction. I did like a book I read at college that was fiction called White Noise by Don Delillo.
You know, my boyfriend has gotten some choice books in his English classes. Have you ever heard of a novel called "Oryx and Crake?" I think it would interest you, moreso if you enjoyed Orwell's 1984.
Nope, I plan to have children someday. Also, I have never heard of that book, but I will look into it.
Have you thought about saving the name Cooper for one of your children instead of your cat? It would be a good name for either sex. Or do you have better ones in store for your offspring?
I recommend it. It's fiction, but it's very much commentary on some deeper social issues, like genetic modification of food and cloning, and what happens when technology gets into the wrong hands. And aside from that, the characters are richly developed.
So, what's your favorite non-fiction?
I like too many non fiction books to count, usually left wing political books. I also like the 2008 Almanac of American Politics by Michael Barone. I tend to read more magazines, both political and music related and some of the trashy celebrity gossip rags.
Oooh. Heard any good celebrity gossip lately? I don't read those types of things usually, but if something big happens I like to know about it.
The girls at work like to read Ok! weekly and usually I am forced to read with them. Let's compare notes.
I like the gossip on http://www.perezhilton.com and http://www.tmz.com but I take much of the rumors with a grain of salt. On a sidenote, Perez Hilton was the first media source to break the story that there would be a music festival put on by Goldenvoice in New Jersey.
Yeah, I remember that. Also, one of my co-workers saw the headliners on PerezHilton before I saw it on the mexican radio's site. I was sorely disappointed in mass media for that one. TMZ is ridiculous and I can't believe they have a channel on TV around here.
TMZ is a guilty pleasure. The guy that runs it Harvey Levin is an interesting character. He is an attorney and a former legal reporter. He also appears on The People's Court.
Is it raining at your house Ken? Did your hair get all poofy form it?
as much as i like the rain, i wish it would stop, at least for this weekend. i can't get to the Anaheim area if the Grapevine is snowed in. i need to see good "new" movies!
"That's the most gangster punk rock shit out there."- Z-Trip showing his love for Paul Tollett
Sorry to interrupt, but I didn't know that Harvey Levin from The People's Court runs TMZ. Woo.
Yup, LEvin does. Unlike Levin, I am heterosexual.
