Default San Francisco People I have a question about parking

Parking around the Independent in Alamo Square, how impossible will this be? Where do you recommend I try? I have tix to a few shows there but I am concerned on where the hell I should try to park, this city is loaded with shows the whole getting there has me worried!

throw in some tips for the bottom of the hill and the warfield too please

yes my obsessive mind has lost sleep over this, haha to not have anything of real value to be worried about, i should be thankful!

There are a couple of lots behind and a block away from the Warfield which are cheap. If you wanted to make sure your car was ''safe'' then park by Metreon and walk it.

parking can be a bitch in the western addition (where the independent is). Your car's not very safe around there too in case you have stuff in it.

There's plenty of parking out by Bottom of The Hill.

For the Warfield just use the Mission & 5th garage.

There are some pay lots at the end of Grove. you can walk a block over to Hayes and take the 21 bus to Divisadero. For the Independent I mean. That's the best I've got to offer for that. I agree with Jack re: plenty of street parking near BOTH and 5th and Mission garage for Warfield. There's a huge parking structure near Union Square too that might work for the Warfield, I don't remember which street it's on. Driving is for squares.

a bike ride from rohnert park to san francisco is a little long, so i will be forced into being a square and driving. thanks for the help though, is the bus option from grove better than parking around alamo square? do the busses run all night?

I've never had too much trouble parking around the Independent even though I've had to park at least a few blocks away, but its not that bad. Just plan on going early and spending around 10 minutes going up and down the streets in that area.

As for the Warfield, last time I went to a show there was with my Dad, and he decided to park in the Tenderloin which is right around the corner. If you park there just expect to be accosted by hard core crack addicts. And fear for your life.

if you want to find a spot within 10 minutes then don't even bother trying to park on divis near grove on a weekend. If you're going to fan out from there go west of divis and as south as possible. Your car's safer that direction.

and btw the buses do not run all night. There are only a small number of owl routes that run on a very abbreviated schedule between 1 and 5am.

I don't know where Rohnert park is. You could park and ride in on BART.

I'm also pretty sure that most Independent shows don't go much past 12.
