Who's the best collection of musicians bogged down by an awful front man?

I was just watching the Johnny Ramone tribute concert and this topic came to mind while watching Red Hot Chili Peppers butcher "I Wanna Be Sedated" and "She's The One."

I think the Rapture would be 10 times better without their annoying lead singer.

And I always thought Rush would have sounded a lot better without Geddy. God, I hate that guy.

Sometimes I love the guy, and he's very unique, but there are quite a few Fall tracks that would have been so much better with a great singer. I'd love to hear someone rip into the classical rather than mutter over it. That song deserves insanity.

God, so many local bands. That always makes me so sad, when a band sounds really good but I just can't get over their lead singer's voice. And I can't help but just wonder how they don't hear what I hear.

And Geddy Lee's voice is amazing! However, I am Candian. So, by law, I must love everything Rush has ever done. By the way, I love your Sig.

And my vote... Guns N Roses. Axels voice just sometimes bug the hell outta me.

As for Geddy Lee... As a bass player, I sometimes wish he would just shut up and play bass... Sting >>> Geddy Lee as the best singing bassist in pop music.

Maybe I would like Battles more if the vocals didn't completely fuck my ears over whenever I heard them...

When I was 12 some friends were visiting from Michigan and their daughter had a copy of Master of Puppets and I listened and I loved the music but didn't like Hetfield.

Then they released ...And Justice for All and I heard "One" some and stuff and then came the self-titled and it had more radio songs and Hetfield sounded different - that is more plain - and I kinda got into them some but I rather quickly realized that the black album sucks and the earlier albums rule face.

This doesn't really have anything to do, directly, with answering this thread; this has mostly been story time with Uncle John.
