    Exclamation SILVER SUN PICKUPS

Definitely one band I'm dieing to see at Coachella this year. Saw them at the Belly Up in SD and they freakin rock. Would love to see them on a bigger stage at Coachella. Definitely the change that current music needed. If you haven't heard them yet pick up 'Carnavas' ASAP - you won't be disappointed. Reminiscent of early Pumpkins 'Gish' or Pixies, but better.

Thanks Scooter. There's also a band that's supposed to play at Coachella this year called The Arcade Fire. They rock pretty hard. They have an album titled Funeral that you should check out. You can buy it from this one website called amazon.com. They have a great selection of books and music and pretty much anything else you can imagine.

You can buy them on CD. People with inoffensive voices read them to you.

And Scooter, congrats on losing absolutely all credibility on this board (in your 1st post, nonetheless) by declaring Silversun Pickups better than the Pixies. Might as well follow that up with Conner Oberst is better than Bob Dylan.

I think it is great that MTV and radio stations like KROQ and others are playing their single Lazy Eye. When I first heard that song, I thought a girl was singing in it.

Honestly, I don't think there are any radio stations in LA other than KROQ.

For what it's worth, I think Silversun's live show is more enjoyable than the Pixies were the one time I saw them.

    Flame away, fanboys.

I saw them once and was underwhelmed. I've seen Pixies 5 times, and have loved it each time

Where did you see Silversun Pickups, Bryan? Just out of curiosity; I have no interest in arguing the comparison between them and the Pixies.

They were at amoeba. Probably not the best gauge of their live sound. I like the Pikul EP, haven't heard the album tho. If they don't conflict with someone i really want to see, i'll catch some of their set at Coachella

I went to it with my dad, and we saw the Black keys right afterwards. The Black Keys killed it. It was better than the Troubadour show that they played the night prior.

Silversun's show at Amoeba was NOTHING like their usual performance. Namely, they are the loudest band I've ever seen. I mean, seeing them at the Echo three times, I've checked my ear to see if it was bleeding after one song. The Amoeba performance was basically an acoustic set by comparison. It's also essential to seeing why people are so into them, because the live show fixes the only real problem with their album.

If you like "Pikul", you really need to see them for a fully plugged-in show. I mean, don't expect them to beat out the Pixies for Christ's sake....but give it another shot. And check out "Carnavas" as well - it has a more polished studio sound (which, again, is a detriment in my book), but the songs are great. And, again, in concert they're outstanding.

I'll definitely check em out at coachella with that recommendation. Anything a Slint fan suggests catches my attention.
