New Apple Ipod?

so the rumors are Apple will be unveiling the new touch screen interface ipod tomorrow and will be available in stores tomorrow. has anyone else heard this?

As if this is shocking right? Now we get a choice, a $600 8gb iPod with a phone attached to it. Or a 100gb(I figure its getting made) for $400 with no phone. Hmmmm, tough choice. I still wont buy one, cds/vinyl fo lyfe.

the iphone just seemed silly to me. if i utilized all the functions constantly, which i do, it would die half way through my day. i prefer my stuff separate.

i dont like to have two-in-one gadget. i like my ipod player separate from my cell phone. if this ipod comes up at reasonable price (the video ipod i got was 300 bucks for 30 gb) i might buy it asap. cant wait!

Discman is too big in my pocket. Even some musicians/audiophile have surrendered (just for convenience sake - am not saying gave up totally) to ipod/mp3/digital music players.

Yeah, vinyl > CD > mp3 but I don't think I can even or will ever hand-carry in plane (or in my road trips) 500 of my CDs/vinyls (7"/12"/LPs) and vinyl player anymore. lol

Trust me, you dont wanna know. But I store everything on DVD's so its not that much space being taken up physically like when I take stuff off my computer. And yeah I burn cd's for my car pretty much other than what I buy. And if I went on a long trip, I would bring essentials and what I was into at the moment nothing else, I dont find myself digging for some obscure album/track on vacation. I have yet to replace my portable cd player actually. I went ''missing'' a couple years ago and never bought another. I still want to get a replacement but just not the biggest priority right now. Call it old school or just plain non sense (I know you mean well) but I see an iPod as one of the biggets badges of conformity right now, and thats not my style. I also DO NOT want to be dependant on iTunes. And when I went on plane I loved having my cd cases and all that in my backpack. Oh and liner notes are always fun to read.

I would rather have a bigger HD than a bigger screen. Also, ipods are no longer the possessions of conformists, maybe 3 or 4 years ago. I have a cell phone, am I a conformist?

And no, having a cell phone is not being a conformist bitch.(unless its a RAZR) At least I see no need to give into having a portable digital media player at my waist 24/7. There is soembody I know who loves music and vows to never buy cds or records for the rest of his life because he will just download it all and whatnot. straight up. and it just makes it soo much easier to listen to music in the car. the battery life is a joke though. hopefully the new one is beefed up a bit

I like liner notes too which is why I buy CDs/vinyl but I rip them and they sit. At some point I'm going to start getting sick of them taking up all that space... but not yet. And anyway, liner notes are mostly for the first time anyway especially with lyrics and performance credits online for most everything anyway.

Yes, iPods are popular now but that doesn't automatically make them bad.

This works, btw. I use WinAmp to manage my mother's iPod.

I have a non-iPod iPod so I don't have to worry about iTunes at all.
