Uberzone did not attend (which I found out only after peddling my ass as fast as I could across the playa after my own set). He put a message on his myspace about it.

The early burn thing was blown way out of proportion. I can't fucking believe that stupid shit made the front page of the chronicle.

The arsonist shit is total bullshit. I fully believe the inside job theory. There was hardly anything interesting going on at the base this year. I went by to check it out earlier in the day and was struck by how lame and empty it was, hardly any of the green shit they were talking about. There were rumors that the organization was far behind in setting it up.
Larry Harvey set up or at least condoned the "arson" early enough in the week so that they had enough time to rebuild it and look like heroes.

I did see it, but from about over a half-mile away. I couldn't go into the crowd because I had to rush back to cirque bezerk to help set up for a show. Still even from that far the explosion was huge. I had to shield my eyes and felt a blast of hot air from that far away.

That was the largest explosion I'd ever seen, but not the largest fire. That was the Uchronia from last year.

That happened at camp Comfort & Joy a couple blocks away from us. It was in a modest sized moroccan tent, it didn't look nearly 2 storys. The performance art quote was BS too. His friends weren't there if he had any at all. Nobody at the camp knew him. A campmate of mine who was with BM was tasked with helping try to identify him (wihtout publicizing it too much) and as of the time that article was posted nobody had any clue who he was.
