I'm in a hotel in Palm Desert. What's the best way to get to Coachella from there? Is there a bus? Monorail? Hovercraft? Transportation system like on Star Trek?

Or am I best just splitting taxi fare with others leaving from the town every day?

I'm originally from Fife - mad Dons fan though (almost ashamed to admit it!). My 19 year old stepkid and I are staying in a hotel in Palm Desert, which if Google Maps is right, is between Palm Springs and Coachella.

It might be cheaper and more convenient to just rent a car. It's just $10/day to park, plus $29-$49/day for the car. It's my 4th Coachella and I couldn't imagine NOT having my own car. Trying to coordinate a taxi seems like it would be a nightmare. Sharing a ride might be an option, but then you're bound to that person's will - not your own. Good luck with whichever way you go.

What are the streets your hotel is on?

You could probably manage to hit the bus down to about 2 miles away or so from the venue then hitch a taxi (but you'd have to call for it).

3: Turn RIGHT onto JEFFERSON ST. 1.5 miles

How long it takes, depends on what time you leave. I usually leave PS in time to get there when the gates open (11am), and I drive in with barely a slow down. Last year on Sunday we went in around 3 and there was a huge difference. It probably took about 30-45 minutes. (Using 111 is kind of a backway that avoids a lot of traffic.) A lot of my friends came in off the 10 and were stuck in traffic for hours. They ended up missing 2-3 sets they were hoping to catch.
