Rush in coachella?

i read in wikipedia that they gonna release a new album in April, do you think they can play a show in the festival? that would awesome!

I saw Rush in '90 on the Presto tour...probably their last decent album.

I wouldn't see that happening unless they just wanted to play a small show for fun. They would never be put on one of the big stages, because they aren't "cool". And they aren't making a comeback and don't need the publicity/credibility boost a tent show would give them. They still sell out arenas worldwide.

Similar musical style (well, older Rush anyway...they got mellower in the 80s)
Similar pretentious, complicated storylines.
They both have large followings, yet are rejected by both the mainstream and the hipster underground.

You could compare Coheed to any 70's prog-rock band, but Rush is the most obvious.

Pound for pound Rush is one of the most talented bands ever.....yes EVER! The only thing that sucks is that yes, I can see where you could not stand them if Geddy's voice grates on you. Other than that though, you cant fuck with any of those guys on their instruments. Alex Lifeson is really good on Guitar...not the best ever but really fuckin good. Geddy Lee is one of the best bass players to ever pick one up. And I dont think I even need to get far into how good Neil Peart is......he is the best percussionist pretty much hands down and I challenge anyone to name someone better.

All that being said I dont really think they are much of a festival band....and if you have ever seen them live you know, they have a pretty substantial rig.......that and they arent really a "play 45min and get out" kind of band either....when you see Rush you get your money's worth. They are probaly in my top 4 fav acts to see live. They are kinda like RATM....if you get a chance to go see them, you do it.

NO, Rush will not be playing Coachella, hehehehe. But they are an AMAZING band live. I saw them in 2002. Incredibly tight performance! One of the best classic rock bands that is still around. And their drummer is pretty much as good as it gets.

I absolutely second all of the above!
And Rush would never play for 45 minutes. They do their own tours so they can play 2-3 hour sets, so Coachella is out.
However, Rush COULD play at Bonnaroo! The OTHER festival is more relaxed (cooler?) in allowing certain bands to play 2-3 hour sets.
