It's funny because Depeche Mode was way higher on my "bands to see" list than Daft Punk.
Yeah dude, it was an amazing year. That was actually my original plan, but I got bored and impatient. For the last 20 minutes or so I was really just sticking around to hear "Enjoy the Silence" but apparently it was played about 5 minutes after I gave up to get a spot for Daft Punk.
Apparently I'm all alone with Bauhaus. I thought they were incredible!
I can't really vote for this poll--Rage against the Machine is the only band on the list that I actually saw.
Rage scared me cause I was so tripped out on mushrooms and ecstacy. I was like goddamnit why is this mutherfucker talking about political stuff. I just wanna rave! Then I walked over to Infected Mushroom.
I saw The Arcade Fire in 2007 and they blew my mind. They diffentily win my vote.
The Pixies!!! W/ RadioHead a very close 2nd. Come on people!!! The Pixies. Anyone else, doesn't even compare. With the Pixies, one hears the music comming from their souls, not from some electronic do-dads & keyboards & samples of other artists talent. The Pixies are RAW with it!!! Raunchy!!! And yes, SEXY!!! Want proof? Ask Radiohead, Blur, David Bowie, Kurt Cobain, PJ Harvey, etc, etc..
It's kind of confusing to me that you could have this poll, yet not include Faithless, which was, by far and away, the best Coachella perfoemance ever...
Yup 99 was a masterpiece, a legendary indulgence.
I simply was not able to watch a single act all the way through for having to run to another stage or tent to catch a part of some other amazing acts set.
Total synapse overload.
Having said that, the greatest act I have witnessed at Coachella (or ever really) has to be Daft Punk.
Don't know why I'm sharing this, lol.
I'm glad Golgol Bordello is in the poll, but it's missing The Hives and Sonic Youth.
HAYSOOS what I would have given to see daft punk and arcade fire at coachella. I'm stuck with dvd clips and tales of the "life changing experience" that my friends had during daft punk. Someday.
Ya know... There's a lot of talk on these threads about how great Radiohead is...I am a huge fan as well...so why are they not ranked as high as they are praised? Just an observation...
