Marc Bolan was effectively done by 1972. He is disqualified from being cooler than David Bowie. I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but David Bowie owns an entire decade.

You're right about Bolan being done by 72. I just like Marc Bolan. Only two of his records are top notch.

Agreed, but at least I did not have to refer to American world dictionary of Wikilopepia...or whatever.

"Ziggy" to me just drags; it's one of those albums that I am supposed to love as a fan of the era, but it just has never done anything for me.

Now, on the other hand, "Aladdin Sane" just flat out rocks. "Watch That Man", "Panic In Detroit","The Prettiest Star", "The Jean Genie" and the title track all absolutely rule. The only misstep on the entire album is the cover of "Let's Spend The Night Together". Released right after "Ziggy", I just feel that it's a more focused album.
I loved "Aladdin Sane" enough to rank it seventh.I completely agree about the Stones cover and "Watch That man" and "Drive-In Saturday" feel too much like Bowie trying to be Elton John for me to rank the album higher.

    Wot's he on about,then?
I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. . . . corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed.

Dubious swill! Check your sources instead of quoting verbatim from wikiopedia. For christ sakes, I could go on and change all manner of "facts" on there. Search around, do proper research and you will discover that "most serious people" do not think DB contributed lyrically to the song. So, stick your dubious swill comment up your ass.

    Cite sources.

Also, consider the following pearl of wisdom:

"The Argument from Intimidation is a confession of intellectual impotence." (Ayn Rand)

The onus is on you to provide a more reliable and convincing source. Unless you're talking out your ass, which is what it looks like from this vantage point.

The bigger problem is "I'mn't". You need to see someone about that before it spreads to other parts of your vocabulary.

I'll slur 'em 'gether something fierce but I don't know 'bout goin' that far. I guess what I'd say'd sound somethin' more like "I'm'ot" but on the page (screen) that's more difficult to parse.

Daft Punk and Let's Dance are the only two things on my iPod that are guaranteed to make me do the cabbagepatch on the spot, no matter where I am or who is watching.

The anus is on you for jumping into a discussion where you have played no part. You have no vantage point Yab. Do you actually know what we are talking about, have you ever seen DB? The point I am making, just to bring you up to speed, is that I and many other people do not believe DB wrote the lyrics for CG, whats difficult to understand about that - I'm also bored with people jumping up and licking other peoples asses on this so the argument\discussion is over.

Something DB did not get bored with until after he wrote CG with IP (or JO if you prefer real initials).

Just to clarify, when I called it Iggy Pop's song, I meant that his version came out first and that I enjoy it more than Bowie's. But even I must admit that some of those lyrics seem beyond the Igster. The line "visions of swastikas in my head burn for everyone", for example, sounds totally like Bowie. That whole verse really.
