Default Two Versions of The Noisettes?

Am I the only one who didn't realize there are 2 bands that go by The Noisettes? Here I was all excited to see a minimalist electronic group, and then I discovered there is a London based rock outfit that isn't very good. I think we get the bad one in Indio. Better I found out now, I guess.

ah, they'll most likely be playing too damned early anyways.

There is also a Deerhunter and the Dear Hunter. Confusing. The new Noisettes album is pretty good, I am sad I missed their free show at Amoeba last month.

My buddy picked up a Battles CD before Coachella that did not turn out to be "the" Battles. Live Battles were better, however.

I bought a ticket to see Beulah a few years back, only to discover it was some awful female singer/songwrecker from Ireland rather than the Californians I was expecting.

Something similar happened to me, Chris. In the early 90's, a tiny bar in Dayton, OH was advertising an appearance by Suede. I showed up the night of the show to discover that there was also a female singer-songwriter going by that name. Here's the cover of her first album:

She's not nearly as pretty as Brett Anderson.

    /\ Win

There used to be two "Battery"s, but most people had never heard of either one, so it only affected a few of us.

I told a bunch of my friends that Black Flag was playing in San Francisco a while ago,. It turned out to be Black ***, a gay Black Flag cover band.

At least Santogold does not have the leathery skin of that "snake oil salesman" Cal Worthington.

I actually noticed that as well. They played on a weekly radio show on KEXP a few weeks before or after my band did a few years ago and I was excited to see them. Turns out coachella got the crappy pop one instead.
