I like Radiohead as much as the next guy but, would be bummed that they headline a day instead of someone who hasn't. I would rather see them at their own show then a festival anyway ( unless its Bonnaroo).

Damn, That hurts..... I did get back to you and I think I recall saying in the beginning "Yeah thats it... FYI hotels are Packed that weekend, i am going to stay at my boss's condo there its 3 bedrooms and you guys are more then happy to stay too, just a thought." That's the direct quote. I didn't diss Radohead, just said that I would rather see someone who hasn't headlined already.

Yeah, the same night as The White Stripes in LA, which I will be attending instead, The Pumpkins should be playing 1 solo LA venue and also headline KROQ's inland invasion the weekend of September 15th...

Deviate they didn't cancel entirely, they have to move the show from Embarcadero due to noise ordinance issues, they will probably play either RIMAC or Coor's in SD on that scheduled night.

I think it just means that as a band, your fanbase and popularity has outgrown a theater but has not reached stadium or large arena status. Muse, White Stripes, Interpol, Pearl Jam (to name a few)cannot all be sell outs can they?

Definitely. In fact, Interpol sold out three years ago when they did Antics.

And The White Stripes should be doing what they used to do: multiple shows at the Greek.

But labels, management, and sometime the bands themselves can't do these mini residencies all the time, they might as well book a bigger venue and move forward to another city that has probably not even had the pleasure of seeing them yet. Every now and then they will do some secret radio show at a smaller venue but if your popularity is rising you have to please more people by utilizing a bigger venue.
