    oasis absolutely rules.

straight forward no nonsense rock 'n' roll. they're not exceptional musicians ('cept Noel) and they're not forging new paths in music but they are just a solid fucking band.

Don't Look Back In Anger is a great song, but I'm definetely not a big fan either. I would probably see them at Coachella however unless a huge conflict arose.

my first love. (although that should be obvious...)

I still love singing along to the obscure b-sides that no-one else knows. I would have loved to go the acoustic shows noel & gem were doing last year. didn't have the chance though. :-(

I wish noel would get his act together though. I still think their peak was in '96. go watch There & Then and tell me those live shows weren't awesome.

if I could go back, I'd be at knebworth.

my god, that acoustic show was brilliant. i saw the one here in LA and - with a chance encounter and a tip-off (thanks!) - i met noel, gem and zak starkey at a bar near santa monica. it was amazing. even though i play a different style of music, early oasis tunes was the reason why i picked up the guitar.

Oasis = something that provides refuge, relief, or pleasant contrast

    Their name says it all.

Yeah, really. How many times do they expect people to buy the same bad cover version over and over again?

No nonsense? Thats the funniest thing I have heard in a while....All they are about is nonsense.

    Bunch of crybabies.

Seriously should have seen them at ACL two years ago. It was their first show back in the US and the buzz was all about these guys.

Show started and all the singer (Noel?) did was bitch at the sound guy, throw things around, and stand there like with his back two the crowd like a crybaby. He sang about two to three lines of each song and by the second or third there were about 200 people still watching.

They were the laughing stock of the town that weekend.

    That was my Oasis experience.

I have a lot of time for Noel, but i'm fairly whelmed by their musical output (I like the odd song, but there's a lot of filler)

Nice link. Nothing but good things to say about their Coachella (Hollywood Bowl, Inland Invasion, San Diego) performances. People post negative things about their Coachella performance but it was packed that night and everyone was singing to every song.
    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

Their performance at Glastonbury was fucking insane from what I've seen. Imagine 250k people ALL singing along to Don't Look Back In Anger.

their performance at 2000 leeds and reading made me tingly. Standing on the stage with noel and liam next to me watching primal scream was epic. then 60,000 people singing "i am the resurrection" stone roses song just before oasis took the stage was mind blowing. Oasis was rumored to be breaking up and had some big announcement to make after the show, haha the announcement was they were gonna go party after. oh what a great show that was.

Sorry, but I can't stand Oasis. "Whats the Story..." was good for a while, but they aren't nearly as great as they think they are. Also, the fact that they haven't put out a decent album since then says something.

did anyone see lord don't slow me down? my then-boyfriend was working for sony and there were all kinds of stop the clocks promos going on, one being a screening of that documentary at a local theatre. it was actually really interesting and i wound up with all kinds of posters and junk (but i have no idea what happened to them).
