It seems that quite a few people here are fans of Trader Joes, the greatest market chain ever. Ralphs and Vons can fuck themselves, it's all about the Joes.



So whats your favorite things to when food shopping at the Traders?

Green Tea Mochi

Masala Veggie Burgers (taste like Indian food)

EVERYONE at my work is obsessed with Wasabi peas now, one of them brought it randomly one day then everyone was buying them.

i like bristol farms too though, and i usually do my shopping at vons because it's within walking distance and has reasonably good produce. i have no real grocery store loyalty but if everything was at the same convenience level i'd go with tj's.

Sometimes when I'm in there buying my staple items, I'll just randomly grab something new off the shelf and try it. I'm rarely disappointed.

The black bean and jack cheese burritos are awesome and only 1.99 and completely filling. i also like the sweet chili and cheese tamales. and the chinese chicken salad. i love that i can get the same morningstar foods there for half the price ralphs charges.

Chicken Gyoza's, Gyoza sauce, Black Bean chips, Margherita Pizza, Quilmes Argentinian Beer, some Peach flavored Champagne, 2 buck chuck, La Boca wines, beef taquitos, beef tamales, chicken and cheese tamales, sweet italian sausage, lemon pepper chicken breasts, carne asada, pepper jack cheese, spicy salami, sweet white corn, garlic fries, chipotle ranch fries, chicken chow mein, fried rice...the list goes on and on

And my number one favorite....

$1 PIZZA DOUGH. Seriously, that stuff is the shit. It's a buck; roll it out and throw it on your pizza stone with some cornmeal. It's like pizzeria pizza dough.

frozen beef taquitos (the chicken ones are nasty, only bad thing I've had at TJ's, but the beef are delicious, especially if you cook them in the pan and sprinkle on some cheese)

Yeah, theirs is the only frozen food I will touch. I picked up a sandwich for lunch once when doing audience work for Deal Or No Deal (only place within walking distance) and it was rather good.

Anyone try their alfredo sauce? I'm rather picky about that sort of thing, and can actually make my own, but if it's good, that would be awesome.

this store is great for lunch. I buy a weeks worth of single serving meals for about 15-20 bucks and I just leave everything at work so I don't have to spend $10 a day

we get all our groceries at tj's, except for fruits and veggies. for those we go to a place called grower's direct, basically a farmers market, so cheap and so fresh. i have been going to ralphs lately for organic strawberries, though...$1 for a pound of them!

i love that the mexican food is called "trader jose's", italian food is "trader giotto's".

my daughter is pretty much always in pink, but has very little hair so far...people always come up and say i have a beautiful boy. seriously??
