Anyone going to the Bruery's reserve society tasting on St. Patty's Day? Should be fantastic!!
"Monklish Licker"
After last year's fiasco, and the fact they're now charging separately for it and also not specifying how many tasters, etc., are included, I'm taking this year off.
Same here; not going since we have to pay $50.00 on top of the membership fee.
I emailed them last week asking about it and the reply was 10 tickets (tabs) and each tab was good for 1 2.5 oz tasting or two tabs depending on the brand. Instead, I went ahead and bought a ticket to Stone Sour Fest.
I'm sure there will be some great stuff there, even if most longtime RS members have had most of it before, but dang, $50 is a lot for 25 oz of beer (or 12.5 oz of two-tab beer).
Yeah, last year was a mess but I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and see if they improved it. $50 is a lot, but god damn I love their Oude Tart, Black Tuesday, and Chocolate Rain. I'm gonna hit the tasting til 7:00 and then head over and see Puscifer in Riverside. Should be a great St. Patty's day.

breweries are popping up all over the central Texas area. These guys are by far my favorite. I have been obsessed with them lately. Everything they do goes through a secondary fermentation in the bottle giving it a rich mouthfeel and a super thick head.

I had The Bruery's Humulus Lager and Lips of Faith Cocoa Mole. The latter was great, chocolate with hints of vanilla and spicy.

So does anyone on this thread actually meet up and drink great beer? If anyone is going weekend 2 I will have handicapped parking. This is located right behind and in between the Gobi and Mojave tents. I will be filling up a cooler with choice brew as to avoid drinking shitty Heineken the whole weekend. If you'd like to join PM.

I posted something in the canned beer thread about wanting to set up some sort of meet up where we can get together and share our favorite local breweries in a tasting kind of format, but didn't recieve any interest. Maybe this is a better thread to discuss such things. I think it'd be awesome. Everyone could donate a few beers and do 4 oz. pours and give us all a chance to try beers we probably don't normally have access to. I'll be bringing some the best beer New Orleans has to offer. Anyone interested?
I'm going second weekend, gentlemen, and I would be very interested in getting in on some good beers. I'm going to hit both of my favorite local beer stores to see what I can find, and I imagine I'll have some worthwhile stuff to contribute.
I am a sucker for any and all coffee porters and stouts.
