First World Problems.
This makes me happy.I really enjoyed the one beer(Fortuious) I had and was complex enough to think they were really great.
I got a sampler. It had a hef, pale, mexican style lager, IPA, Porter and then a beer called Gerst, which is brewed based upon the first recipe of the first brewery in Nashville, which closed due to prohibition. The hef, porter and gerst were all fantastic, and both the pale and lager were quite good.
I had this for the first time before The xx on Monday, and I'm about to have it again. It's crazy hoppy, even to the point of being a tad bitter, and it's fucking excellent.

Had a nice Fuller's London Porter to celebrate the Opening Ceremonies. Stuff goes well with coffee ice cream.

I tracked down some bottles of the Dogfish Head/Victory/Stone collab, Saison du Buff (top one on following link)
http://www.stonebrew.com/collab/
It's a smooth malt that does like the bottles says- strong tones of Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme. Felt like I stuck my nose directly into a bin of spices.
I really wish I could have gotten my hands on some of that Baird/Iishi/Stone one- Japanese Green Tea IPA. Anyone try that one while it was around?

Campfire stout on tap yesterday was epic... Stuff really taste like s'mores.
I had some of the green tea IPA on tap at Tony's a while ago, it was pretty good.
Also, the beer selection wasn't great, but I did the all you can drink thing at Hangover in K-Town on Friday and it was super fun. I'll definitely be going back.

GABF sold out all 4 sessions in 5 min.
I've been digging Aventinus lately. Only had it at Wurztkuche though. Anyone know where else i'd be able to find it?
You know, but that's valid because if we are all gonna die anyway shouldn't we be enjoying ourselves now? You know, I'd like to quit thinking of the present, like right now, as some minor insignificant preamble to something else.

It's that tad bit of Crazy that keeps me Sane...
So the liquor store around the corner scored a case of Dogfish Head 120 IPA. I know you beer geeks love it. I do not like IPAs. Should I bother going down and grabbing a bottle?
Also, will someone send me a Campfire Stout? I'll send you an Arizona goodie in exchange.
If you don't like IPAs, then you won't like it. It's strong with a bit of bitterness. You'd be better off getting some of the 60 Minute.

I like some of the Belgian/IPA combos very well. They're not super common but I know Karl Strauss had one for a while that was pretty yum.
I ran by Golden Road Brewery just now and picked up a growler of their Surfliner Double IPA. It's good and reasonably high ABV @9% without being overly hoppy. Give that one a try if you are around Glendale at some point.

120 minute doesn't even taste like an IPA to me. It doesn't taste like anything else i've ever had either, and has a super high ABV, like 12%? I didn't know they bottled it.

Happy IPA day!!! I recently had 120 on tap and it tasted more like an IPA, out of the bottle it comes in at 18% and my buddy that worked at the halfbra, that got the keg, said it was 15%...
I had an aged bottle of 120 and it tasted more like brandy than IPA...
Campfire stout is damn good!

Ran over there yesterday and they were all out already. Also confirmed that they are not distributing Campfire Stout here. Fucking hell.
Good news is that a new law has taken effect, allowing any establishment that has beer on tap sell growlers. So that's cool. (Before it was only breweries that could sell them).
Campfire Stout packs the pounds on and makes you look like a giant roly poly. I'd stay away from it.
With our love-we could save the world-if they only knew.

Drinking one of these right now. Bought it in 2009. "Best after October 2010" the label says. Chocolate, coffee, bourbon and wood. Nom nom.
