Kern River's Citra is an amazing IPA. It seems like it made CiTra hops a high demand ever since it came out. At the very least educated me with a single hop IPA that made me gave a damn about a hop name.
Deschutes Fresh Squeeze is a great for being decently priced and easy to find. I wonder how much they make at once with fresh Hops. Riko, I remember you were saying you were drinking a lot of fresh Hopped ipa's anything worth noting again from that? or another thought has anyone ever had a fresh hopped stout or wit?

That's exactly why I love Fresh Squeezed: it's a fresh-tasting IPA that is readily, affordably available. There are many I've had that are better, but I can't buy them year-round.

Had a fresh squeezed earlier on tap. Also had the latest Enjoy By on tap also. My first time ever having an Enjoy By on tap after so many times in bottle. Yes it really does make a big difference.

Looks like I've ticked 274 unique American IPAs on Untappd. I didn't know you could see the number by style until now. Thanks for pointing that out, Drinkey...

Fresh squeezed is good stuff. Probably my favorite beer by deschuttes. I think enjoy by and sculpin are my favorite regularly available ipas. Blind pig is probably my favorite ipa overall.

Have any of you guys been to SF beer week's opening gala? I want to go but I'm trying to justify the $80 price tag.

I've been to the closing ceremony and that was great for $60. I drank a bunch of beachwood, younger, and stuff I normally don't find.

Anyone in here on untappd? I just downloaded it. Looks like a cool app. Found some Firestone 18 on tap with it, a fucking bowling alley has it of all places.

Wow, Fremont Brewing's The Sister Imperial IPA is delicious. Doesn't at all taste like a 8.5% beer.

Zack and I are going north this weekend and will be making a stop at Russian River. Anyone want a bottle of something?

I haven't been following their release schedule but I'm always up for Beatification or Framboise for the Cure on the off chance either of them are available.

Their framboise is something I need to
    really soughtly out.

I had a Elysian's Dragontooth Stout tonight and thought it was still a good thick stout.

I had a Mad River Brewing Steelhead DIPA tonight, and it was good. It was hoppy but not to hoppy if that makes any sense. Same with the bitterness as it was there but not to much. Had a bit more of a citrus taste to it but overall I enjoyed it.

I think that's the first time I've laughed at a Vigo post.

I tried the Smog City tonight... Maybe I'm just not acquired to coffee porters, I've only had about five, but I thought the coffee taste was way too overpowering. It tasted like black iced coffee made from beans that were burnt, if that makes sense. It tasted good at first, but by the end I was thinking that I don't think I'd be able to drink another. This is coming from someone that absolutely loves coffee by the way.

It definitely tastes more like coffee than beer. It smells like the inside of Starbucks too lol. I loved that stuff though, only gripe was its pretty pricey.

My friend has been aging a 13% kona coffee imperial stout for a year, and last night we opened the first bottles of it. Very dark and roasted start, almost like chicory, and then it smoothed into a buttery toffee flavor. Really damn good.

I actually have found I don't like aging coffee, chocolate, and whiskey beers. It seems the flavor dissipates too much for me. Maybe just aging them for shorter than a year would be ok

This was a homebrew and definitely needed the aging. When we tried it fresh it was WAY too bitter and strung. It's mellowed very nicely.
