Yea, he's making my life difficult. I got him Glenmorangie Nectar d'or, which is a nice drop in its own right. But I can't compete with Blue Label. It's smooth and smokey. Definitely not overrated.

Picked up one of these earlier today. Currently in the fridge getting cold



Kind of nervous about it to be honest. Last time I had a He'Brew was a few years ago and I remember not being a big fan of it. I must admit the label is what made me notice it, and then the 16% ABV sold me on it. I'll report back later with my thoughts on it.

Sweet 16 doesn't hide the alcohol taste very well. It's pretty tasty in spite of that, but you'll probably be glad when it's finished.

I was super glad when I finished it. Did not like it at all, but I will say I was feeling great afterwords.

Finally picked up my first Double Bastard of the season and also got a Stone collaboration The Perfect Crime. Interested to see what that is like.

I picked up a sixer of Wittekerke Framboise just for the heck of it ($15). Malt brew with raspberries. Not really big on fruit anything in my beer but this is a good one. Clocks in at a day drinker 4.3% ABV.

Look for Cigar City, Terrapin, Southern Tier,Bells are a few great breweries that I saw their beer in Florida.

Went to Hillcrest Brewing today. Supposedly the first openly gay brewery. They had nine house beers on tap. I got a flight of all nine. Each was solid for the style -- APA, IPA, DIPA, smoked porter, scotch ale, american brown, hefe, etc. the russian imperial stout was outstanding. i'll go back for more of that for sure. staff was super friendly, pizza was good, a nice trip all round.

It was different then what I was expecting but pretty damn good. It had that coffee taste to it which I'm not a big fan of but this really didn't bother me. I would recommend.

MY friend came over with some Stone ironically. He got me the Smoked Porter with Vanilla Bean and honestly, that might have been the best liquid I've ever tasted. I'm planning on stocking up with those real soon.

Everyone had Victory At Sea on tap this weekend and it is delicious as usual.

EDIT: and yes, Stone's Smoked Porter with Vanilla Beans is one of my absolute favorite beers as well.

If you can find it on a cask, the Vanilla Smoked Porter somehow gets even better. Oak aging brings out all the flavors and adds some warmth. Dear god I wish I had a cask of that to myself right about now.

I wouldnt mind owning a cask barrel for personal usage .I would try weird stuff like caking the inside with Peanut Butter.

They don't use wood casks at Stone, all of theirs are Aluminum.

Hmm. Well, at least one place I went to had Oak Aged in front of the title. Maybe they just put oak chips in the cask? Regardless, it had that aged flavor.

Stone also has the oak bastard so they have to have some sort of oak barrel or chips or something.

I just bought all the Smoked Porter with vanilla that the store had on shelf, which was 11. My only fear is that I end up drinking all of them tonight and don't get to save them. I also noticed they have smoked porter with chipotle peppers, any have that and how is it?

I don't think those are limited, so you should be able to get more later. And the chipotle one is good too.
