I went to a beer tasting/pairing tonight at a local bar and found out that mid December they are going to do a Stone Vertical Epic tasting going from 2004 to 2012. Jesus I am so excited.

Went to AleSmith today for their Barrel Aged Speedway release. They had BA Speedway on draft and on cask, plus Speedway with nutella, a mocha Speedway, Speedway on nitro, Speedway with Italian coffee and Speedway with Vietnamese coffee. And regular Speedway, of course. A friend brought a bottle of 2004 Speedway, and it was delicious. Went home with eight bottles of BA Speedway and a smile on my face ...

Hops are Cannabaceae!!!! Omg! There have been quite a few seed beers but they suck. I imagine some good brews are coming though.

The wine industry has long had vintners who make bottles with bud in it. It's an insane high every time I've had a glass. I'd be interested to see what is developed with something like this, but I wonder how bands on things like Sparks would affect their development.

How does it taste? What do the Sparks bans have to do with this?

I've tried it from three different places. It varied from a slight skunkiness behind a strong Cab to an overpowering marijuana flavor in front of a pinot.

I don't remember the exact language of the law, but I know they had a ban on additional substances of some nature. I'm not sure if it was stimulants specifically or if it was a more general ban on additional classified substances.

Cantillon has so far always been good from my experiences.I am about to go to the Hanger 24 's Barrel Roll tasting.Which I am pretty excited about for there are a few beers I haven't had because I missed the last Barrel Roll releasing and a anniversary party.

Zwanze is a very difficult beer to get outside of Belgium, but I can assume its fantastic since its Cantillon and they always do fantastic beers.

I tried the clown shoes blaecorn unidragon the other day. Also finally tried a number of Hangar 24 beers. And learned that beer festivals involve an obscene amount of standing in one line and then in another line.

Toronado SD had the Zwanze last weekend. They also had a keg of 2008 Lou Pepe Kriek. Both were great.
