Had a little tasting with some friends Saturday night. Among the highlights
Bruery - Filmishmish, a sour apricot beer that was damn good, almost as good as
Cantillon - Fou' Foune, the king of sour apricot beers
Ithaca - LeBleu
Bruery - Mother Funker. A lot better than I expected, especially for the price. I hope I can get more of this.
AleSmith - Barrel Aged Old Numbskull, 2006 - delicious
Bruery - Oui Oui. A little too wine-like for me
Cantillon - Classic Gueuze. always good
Bruery - ISO:FT kinda disappointing
Fulton - Worthy Adversary, a growler of a coffee RIS. It was good but the growler was kinda flat
Bruery - Melange No. 1 - nice chocolate cherry flavor, but as it warmed up it started to taste more like cough syrup
Drinking some Kentucky Breakfast Stout I got in a trade. I've had the regular Breakfast Stout and the Canadian Breakfast Stout before so I am very excited to try this one
Edit: Wow this thing is excellent! I'm am very happy I got 2 bottles of it, but at the same time I'm sad I only have 1 more bottle after this one.

I just finished bottling my second batch of homemade beer, a hefeweizen. God damn the banana smell made my mouth salivate the whole time I was bottling. The sample I had tasted great! I can't wait to try this one once it's carbed up and chilled!

Yesterday I volunteer at Inland Empire Brewery for 3rd anniversary. Highlights were Kat Daddies 's molasses porter, Inland empire 's Peanut Butter porter and Mango Ginger Saison. Also someone opened a bottle of darklord.I got pretty buzz and when I was pouring beer I started asking really fast to the drunk girls if they wanted two in? Which most of them thought I was talking about about both beers I was pouring and if they did they catch what I was saying usually they smiled and said yes.

Went to AleSmith for their grand reopening party for their tasting room. In addition to all the usual AleSmith goodness, a friend brought a growler of Barrel Aged Speedway Stout that he had been cellaring for 22 months. I thought it might be flat but it wasn't at all. It was delicious!
we've got a wheat ale with lime zest and 40 lbs of agave nectar (among other ingredients) in the fermenters. should be an interesting one.
Iron Maiden, Boards of Canada and Underworld for 2013
I had an amazing weekend of beer. Had a couple of glasses of Pliny the Younger. Enjoyed this years batch more than last year. Then went to The Bruery and had a glass of Filmishmish which was damn amazing. That led my date to surprise me today with this lovely beer:

^ Well that's a small image but it's the Fou Foune by Cantillon. 2010 bottle. fucking amazing.

You mean twice? Yeah, I'm not sure either... I got an 8 and 12 from someone on a secret santa from a different website. He promised to send me two more and I was shocked last week when my mailman rang my door.
I only tried the 8 and it was fucking tasty, but I'm gonna try the 12 pretty soon.
Yesterday was awesome, but my memory of everything I had is foggy. the Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout and the Bruery Chocosaurus rye were both insane. Everything gets hazy after the 12.5% barleywine I had as my third beer before I even ate lunch. Awesome day drinking great beers in a crazy old theater!

Had a tasting with some friends; this lineup on Saturday night prevented me from making it out to ColLAboration on Sunday…
Bruery Mother Funker
’11 Eclipse Elijah Craig
’10 Bruery Chocolate Rain (the highlight)
’11 Bruery Sour in the Rye
Dogfish head Red & White
Southern Tier Krampus
Drake’s Hopocalypse
Lagunitas Capuccino Stout
Tool Final Frontier DIPA
3 Floyds Gumballhead
Trappistes Rochefort 10
Schneider Weisse wheat bock
Duchessic Ale
Drinking some Sierra Nevada Norrhern Hemisphere Harvest. I don't think I've ever had a wet hopped beer before this one. The smell is incredible. It tastes pretty good, I would definitely pick up some more.
...the aroma of this is very different from a dry-hopped IPA. The flower scent is much stronger.
