Hi Everyone! I know that I don't post on here much anymore. A few of you know me and you know that I live on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. The situation in South Shore is dire right now. I have 3 friends that have lost their houses and everything they own. The community has really come together up here. As far as physical donations(clothes,food and supplies) go, we have as much as we need. However, the one thing that is now needed is money. Over 225 homes have burnt to the ground up here. This small mountain/resort community has really come together to help our friends and families out. It makes me so proud to be a resident of this community. A bunch of us DJ's/musicians here on the North Shore are throwing a string of benefit shows. I'm using every resource I have right now to get the word out to people. Our community appreciates the concern of the rest of the country. I've had people emailing me from every corner of the country and beyond making sure that I'm ok. Everything is well on the North Shore and I feel it is OUR responsibility up here to help our neighbors to the South.

So the point of this post is this, if you can help at all, please do so. The red cross is accepting monetary donations on behalf of the South Shore community. Thanks so much everyone in advance for any help that you can give!!!

Most of the houses in the area that burned are rental homes. The fire damage to those people's property is not covered under the homeowners insurance policy. Word to the wise, get renters insurance, unforunately I have learned my lesson about this the hard way. The red cross needs money to continue the relief effort.

I'm having a hard time finding a web page that is accepting donations directly. Most of the local links direct you to buisiness' that are gathering funds.
