    Default Weezer, next year?

a new album "out in the first half of 2008", oh well...

    from weezer.com:

    ...folks - here's a message from Rivers...

    "Hey Party-People,

Weezer is just polishing up a batch of songs for a recording session that is going to start at the beginning of July. This will be the final recording session for our 6th album which we aim to put out in the first half of 2008. We hope you are all having good times.

    Love,

    R-dawg"

Simply horrible. Same here. They were slightly better at Inland Invasion than the Coachella stage.
    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

I agree 100% with this sentiment. I too have seen them twice and both times sucked. I like their earlier recordings, but I am so over them.

Damn, I have seen them 4 times and I have to say that they can certainly be off their mark for performances but when they do get things right it can be absolutely amazing.

Geez, they're are some harsh critics here, the Blue album/Pinkerton will always be Weezer at the top of their game but the Green album was just as enjoyable. Malandroit was quite a dissapointment....can't even remember the last time I played that album since the year it came out.

Make Believe was a worthy effort and I didn't enjoy at first but has come to be a favorite of mine, definetly an album that you grow to enjoy after a few listens.

No Doubt and Weezer for Coachella?? Have the 90's returned already??

I would love to see Weezer live. I have heard mixed reviews. No one I have ever talked to said a Weezer show was, ok. It either sucked and was boring, or was awesome and incredibly fun.
I heard a report on the radio a few months ago Weezer broke up. I guess that is not that case.

Weezer wouldnt be the worst choice, but it would be waaay too soon to put em back on the Coachella stage. They wont go any higher than 3rd on the bill anyway, just like Air. The Inland Invasion performance was one of my fave times seeing them. Also on their co headliner with Foo Fighters, I saw them in Oakland and they killed it, it was the last show of the tour so some pinkerton stuff was thrown in there, I loved it.

Make Believe was complete trash and I have no doubt that this album will be any different. Beverly Hills has to be one of the worst alternative rock singles of all time.

You guys are nuts. Weezer is awesome live. They were great at Coachella in 2005.

...but they aren't the kind of band I like to see at Coachella.

In 2001 they were absolutely horrible, I caught a small bit of the 2005 set and it seemed better i guess but I was equally unimpressed.

    Weezer is dead to me.

Blue and Pinkerton are two of my favorite albums ever, but Make Believe completely ruined them. Even if they still play "Say It Ain't So" at every show, having to hear "Beverly Hills" along with it ruins the whole show.

Who cares if Weezer plays next year.

I saw Weezer in '97 when Matt Sharp was still in the band, and at a small club to boot, and it was an excellent show. After he left the band, it seemed like part of the fun of the band left with him. Their only great single from the past three albums has been "Keep Fishin'." I don't think Weezer sucks, I am just kinda luke-warm about them, and this is coming from someone who bought Pinkerton the day it came out.

Not to say it could not happen, but hasn't Weezer played Coachella twice already?

Doesn't Weezer use a computer to create a random set list for every show? I'm sure they throw their new singles and Say It Ain't So on every show, but I read that somewhere. Lame, although I love them.
