it's not a cheat. the pieces in ABC are exactly the same shape as the pieces in DEF.

the angle of the red and blue triangles are different. so when you switch the position of the triangles, it changes the area underneath them.

If the angles are different, that makes the shapes different as well. They look the same, but they aren't. Which makes it a cheat.

you don't understand. the angle of the blue triangle is different than the angle of the red triangle. the blue triangle in the first pic is the exact same as the blue triangle in the second pic. likewise, the red triangle in the first pic is the exact same as the red triangle in the second pic.

therefore, the whole figure (all 4 pieces put together) forms a rectangle, not a triangle.

Lines XM and BC are parallel as well, therefore, angles r and h are the same. There is no way that the angles can be different. Unless of course, the lines are curved.
