this has happened more than once now, so i figured maybe we need a thread for it.

anyway, there's a suspicious package in the loading docks at my building, and no one is allowed to leave. they won't tell us why, but whenever we go downstairs they just yell at us and tell us to go back up.

the exit for my side of the building leads right into the loading docks. there's another exit, but it's locked on the weekends.

at least now i have an excuse to not work.

ok, that was anti-climactic.

the IT guy here today just snuck me and another designer out onto their balcony where we watched a robot carry the package (a box inside a plain white bag with a big red note taped to it) and destroy it.

then they all stood around shaking hands and congratulating each other.

i took phone-camera pics. i'll see if i can upload them.

two cops and a robot

buncha cops, robot leavin'

guy walkin' away with bagged "bomb"

apparently it was a box inside of a white bag. the bag had a note on it, addressed to one of the weathermen for our TV station.

the robot basically just picked it up and shook it until it was destroyed. not a very sophisticated robot. probably doesn't know hotshot.

oh this just gets better. the package was originally left at the front desk with security for the weatherman.

it started beeping, and security freaked out and called the cops.

it was a fucking desk clock. a gift.

I wrote a short story about a guy who blamed his wife's death on the weatherman, she "had a feeling" something bad was gonna happen to the plane, and they watched the news and the weatherman said it was gonna be a clear day, well it turned out to be stormy and the private airplane she was flying in crashed.
So he goes after the weatherman, but not with a bomb.

i found out about 10 minutes before i read this. thanks, though. i am currently abstaining out of respect for the band. i think i want to wait to hear it until i actually have it in my hands.

but i just read the comments on oink and i'm losing my resolve..
