i remember going to the LA zoo for the first time and being so fuckin excited to see the kangaroos.

first thing i did when i got to the zoo was get hopped up on shitloads of sugar. then, i made a mad dash to where the kangaroos were, my parents struggling to keep up. i get to the place and all i see are the kangaroos leaning against the walls, trying to get the tiny sliver of shade left before noon. they were just sittin there and doing nothing, much unlike their portrayals on the discovery channel...i was so depressed i started crying.
