I know some of you are from across the pond. I have ways of knowing this. No one can avoid noticing the odd humour, funny looking teeth, obscenely pasty skin, and lastly -- a quick glance at the "Location:" area of your postings.

Well, enough pleasantries. I need to know what the island is like in Oct/Nov.

Take some Emergency or some AirBorne-you may get sick because of the weather transition from hot desert to cold, wet air. Not to mention the germs you pick up from other people while soaring through the air in a giant metal tube for 12 hours with no air circulation.

oh capt, i remember the days when all the seats had ashtrays in arms ... and IF you wanted to be nice, you would ask the person who is almost sitting in your seat, if they mind if you smoked .. lol ... old school ... i also remember going to school, college, where we could smoke in class ... sorry got off tangent there ... cr****

Most aircrafts still have the ashtrays in the arms...they're just fused shut now so people don't put shit in them.

November 5 is Guy Fawkes Day.That's pretty fun.They burn a representation of Guy Fawkes in effigy for planning a revolt,while little kids frolic and play and their parents get wasted.It's fun for the whole family.

During my year of studying in Oregon in 1998, I decided to celebrate Guy Fawkes' day with some friends there. We went out and got drunk and then decided to create a "bonfire" on the lawn outside one of the halls of residence, on campus. We got a bunch of old pizza boxes and some newspapers and then set fire to them. The flames were pretty big, and suddenly an Oregon police car pulled up and three large police officers ran up to us and said "What's going on here?"
I replied by saying "We just saw some kids start this fire and then they ran away, so now we're just standing here to make sure it doesn't get out of control."
The policemen looked confused for a second and then said "Oh. Thank you very much."
Then we walked away.
That's my story of Guy Fawkes Day 1998.

I'm going to see Voxtrot on 5th Nov this year. Maybe i'll take some indoor fireworks.

Most of the big firework displays tend to be on the nearest saturday to the 5th Nov, so the 3rd will probably be the big night this year.
