cooking is one of my hobbies. My hobbies are: watching sports, listening to music, reading, wine, and cooking. I am not bad at it, my friends say.

I like to cook all sorts of things. I have kept all my Food & Wine magazines back to January 1990 and I also have about 100 cookbooks. I have several dishes that are requested at dinner parties. one is an herb stuffed roast chicken. another is a pork tenderloin with a chile-honey glaze. I also have made paella and bistilla in the past that have drawn compliments.

If I had a cooking show it would be called "I'm Hungry, Let's Eat"

I can remember in 3rd grade wanting to be a mathmetician.

in high school I wanted to be a mathmetician but the guidance counselors could not grasp this so they told me to be an engineer.

in college I wanted to be a math and physics major, and I got an A+ in freshman physics. But wave mechanics kicked my ass.

Why would I laugh? That sounds about right. My pops wanted to be a scientist, even learned German in the course of his plans--but also got fucked when it came to the higher maths.

I buy books and discard them if they bore me. I have a lot of half read (and less) books.

I have a weakness for Tom Clancy, even though I know he sucks and his writing is clumsy and he can't draw a human character for the life of him and he's a right wing gun nut.

I got his latest, about the Jewish colony in Alaska, for father's day. I've not read it yet. I do most of my reading on planes and am in a stretch of not traveling much.
