That sounds complicated. Why can't he go to her office and say, "Good to run into you the other day. Want to grab lunch?"

I mean he doesn't even know if he's interested in her at this point. He only knows that she's pretty. I don't think it's weird at all to ask an acquaintance in your building if they'd like to join you for lunch. It doesn't say "I want to date you." It says "I like to eat, and I assume you like to eat too."

Yeah, exactly. Especially if they have a mutual friend, it's an easy in.

I dunno, I'm not really saying anything is wrong with that but if someone went out of their way to find me and ask me to lunch I would think he was interested in something more than a casual lunch.

I don't think either of us talks to that person anymore, but we recognized each other pretty quickly. So that's an in right there. There's some familiarity that's been established.

Maybe I'm just really forward, but I'd ask an acquaintance of either gender to lunch without hesitation, because that beats eating lunch alone or at my desk, or with one of my coworkers that I see all day every day.

I haven't read any but this page, but TOMMY ask her out already. Jump on me if it's needed, but from these few posts it sounds like Tommy is in junior high.

Ok, so I read back and it still sounds like you're in jr high. Do I go to her class or wait . . .

I heard the whole it's not something that's really bothering me, but . . .

Sometimes I think you think we're stupid, Tommy.

Oh, she's not my co-worker. That may have been unclear. She works for another company in the same building.

I'm not asking because this is some sort of pressing dilemma for me, so don't take it that way. I'm just always curious about how people view certain social situations like that.
Have you considered jerking off onto her desk when she's not there? If she comes to you -- treasure hunt successful. And then, she'll cum to you. Win-win.

What the fuck are you talking about? I'm genuinely just interested in how people view these types of social situations and encounters, just like I said. It's not a dilemma at all. Just a bit of curiosity.

You should bring her lunch, and when she politely says that she's already eaten, you just stand there and say "But I brought this....for us to eat together, and stand there as long as possible until she caves.

Is this a white woman we're talking about, because my advice is very different depending on whether or not the answer is yes.

i think going to her office and asking to go to lunch is fine. anything more than that would feel like a date and i'd be annoyed if someone was coming to my workplace to ask for a date, but i'm also paranoid from my past.

though jerking off onto my desk would make me fall in love with you. your choice.

I don't know, Amy, I don't remember every thread we've had here. Next time I'll just start a new thread.

Ivy, I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but you might look at volunteermatch.com -- they have a listing of organizations looking for volunteers in each city/area, includes enough information that you should be able to look into the particular organization to see if their mission is something you'd want to support.

ha, that's where i'm looking i can't think of much else here in arizona, obviously because we are backwards. like crisis pregnancy center gives you little bibles and makes you watch a scary video (not that i've uh, been or anything, certainly not in high school)

Maybe other types of women's issues? Where there is backwardness, it seems like there is also a need for people to help with rape crisis centers, battered women's shelters, return to work help, etc....

Battered women's shelter might be difficult to get into. Locations are kept private so that the abusers can't find them and such. You'd probably have to do interviews or something in order to volunteer there but if it's something you really want to do, it's definitely worth it. This is all speculation by the way. It was hard enough just donating to a battered women's shelter. My mom and I had a bunch of clothes we didn't wear anymore and we wanted to donate them and we had to contact our local police department and it took over a month or so for them to get back to us about the location and how to donate. I think by that point we had done something else with the clothes assuming we weren't going to be able to donate to them.

Ladies: I have an interview tomorrow for a marketing-centered position at a big food and beverage company. Should I wear:

    Navy, black or gray suit?

White, black or pin-dotted (black on white) blouse?

Black or orange leather padfolio to hold my resume and notes?

Black leather business pumps, or gray suede or leopard print pointy flats?

I seem incapable of making decisions right now because I'm too nervous for my mind to function properly.

What about volunteering for a local politician who supports women's rights?

Or you could volunteer for something like the Girl Scouts and start co-opting the conservative message while they're still young.

I like gray with pin-dotted shirt and orange folder for a pop of color.

    Good luck. You'll do awesome.

Ivy, my sister-in-law works for a non-profit that supports women's cancer research. Would you be interested in that kind of thing?
