Geezus, 5 klonopin before the bar? Xanax doesn't make me sleepy at all, and I can stay awake through Ambien, but even a small amount of klonopin has me slumped in a corner somewhere.
Haaa. They are only 0.5mg tabs not 1mg. And my body is big enough to be able hold a fair amount. And I have some level of resistance. And I'm meeting my manfriend at the bar so the only person who will be date-raping me is the person I am already sleeping with. Have no fears.

Thanks ladies, looks like I will be heading to the dr! Although, I have used melatonin in the past, so I may just try that first. I used to have a diazepam rx for my fear of flying and I absolutely LOVED that stuff![]()
I've been putting off making my annual appt with my gynecologist.
I try to get the appointment and STD testing done in one day. So this means that I haven't even gotten an STD test done in over a year.
I went for an appointment recently and they said that there isn't a need to have pelvic exams every year, unless you've had a recent irregular pap result... which was news to me. You can get STD testing via blood and urine tests.
I wonder how much of this is pressure from health insurance companies to reduce costs, and how much of it is really changes in the medical field.
I remember maybe 5 years ago my doctor said I should get both a general practitioner checkup AND an ob/gyn checkup annually. Then somehow it became an ob/gyn checkup only. And now I have to fight to have my ob/gyn even give me STD tests by convincing her that I have somehow engaged in "at-risk" behavior even though I always use protection and blah blah.
Dumb.
Your doctors are requesting that you don't get an ANUAL evey year?
I wondered that too, but her recommendations were consistent with (actually, less conservative than) the American Cancer Society's screening recommendations. She said every one or two years for women under 30, every three years for women in their 30's, provided there has not been an abnormal pap for the past several years or 'positive' result on HPV screening. But, my doctor's office recommends at yearly STD testing in the absence of any symptoms provided you are not in a long-term and fully monogamous relationship. (So I did the STD test via blood and urine samples). I get a general physical from my GP every year or two, and they do things like cholesterol, blood sugar, etc, screenings every 2-3 years. She informed me she may have me get a mammogram next time around even though I'm not 40 yet. Blegh.
Edited: Yes, gunz, they do not do pelvic exams or paps yearly anymore once you're over a certain age.
I thought it was under a certain age. Hmm.
But speaking of the affordable care act... my birth control should be free starting in January when my mom's plan renews! Yay!
I was writing on a napkin at the bar last night and this guy says to me, "What are you writing, babe? A shopping list?"

my laser place upgraded all their lasers to the new EZ Laze system and my torture sessions aren't torturous at all anymore!! it used to feel like a rubber band snapping against your skin except the rubber band was made out of lava! they would put a bunch of cold gel all over the area to cool the skin so that the heat from the laser wasn't too painful or blistery. with this new one you don't need the cooling gel at all and the head treats an area 3 times the size so it goes much quicker! oh and the pain? NON EXISTENT! now it just feels like a poof of cold air. and not having to clean up the sticky messy gel is a plus too!!
my lady parts appreciate the less painful hair removal process, that's for sure!!
