Robin, I just stalked your old pictures and there's one where your hair is just longer than shoulder length and looks like it's layered a little in the front? That's really cute on you.

cute, miscorrections!! I really like the waves
I'm going to New York and Philly in a few weeks and really want to get a cut and color but I'm having a lot of financial trouble related to last month's stay in the hospital so I'm afraid it's not in the cards this time. if my disability claims come in with enough time to spare, maybe I'll have enough extra cash to schedule something at a fancy NY salon, lol
all you ladies getting your hair done are making me jealous though. keep the pics coming!
Oh, and Corinna, I like the haircut! I never realized your hair was that wavy.
I think I'm going to have to make an appointment for a haircut next week. :P
Thanks! I pretty much only trust my girl to do it right because everyone else wants to fight with my waves and make it all one length and straight. That only works if I straighten it every day, which I definitely do not, so I end up with triangle hair. I don't know why it's so hard to get people to work with your natural texture.
She also cuts it relatively dry (just uses a spray bottle), and I think that helps a lot for getting a good feel for the shape.
I've been on this on-line appt page for this salon since around 0930. It has really good reviews on Yelp (http://www.ascendsalon.com/). It's at least $60 for the best stylists in the shop. What the F is a "blowout"?
A blowout is for women with curly or wavy hair. It is like a straightener.

A blowout is when they style your hair with a blow dryer and hair styling products.

I wonder, if I request to not have a blowout, if they'd give me a discount. lol.
edit: I'd like to know what my hair would look like without the styling, since I don't even know how to style my hair.
I wait until after I wash my hair to judge the cut. At this point, I don't even want to both with styling it. I want my hair to air dry and look cute without doing anything. My last cut did that pretty well.

Same here! My stylist back home styled my hair with a straightening iron a few times. I would get extremely confused because my hair is naturally straight, but it would come out looking great. Of course, I don't own a straightening iron so I would never be able to replicate it.
That's a good idea! Thanks!
Yea, Robin, you should be able to request that. I do, because I will not put the effort into it. My stylist hates to send me out the door without styling it, so normally she first shows me what it will look like with no effort, then styles it to satisfy herself.
Corinna - mine does partially dry and partially wet cut. If she's cutting length, she does that dry, as well as the layers and bangs. Then washes and deep conditions it, then goes back in to thin out, razor/shave, and touch up the layers. After drying it she adjusts the bangs. It's time consuming but my haircuts from her "last" so much longer than any other stylist's because she takes so much care to make sure everything is going to settle properly.
Turns out that the salon I'm looking at also has complimentary wine and mimosas. I'll probably think any hair cut would look great on me by the end of the appt.
My girl does my hair wet. She always has, but I have been seeing her for almost 4 years now so I pretty much trust her with anything she wants to do.
I get so bored with my hair that I end up wanting to hack it all off just for something different... It is down past my bra now, with long layers. This is from this year, gives you an idea of what it looks like. I need something new but I love my length... ugh coachella 12.jpg
^^^ You look really good with long hair!
Does wet vs dry cut really make much of a difference with straight hair?
Not the best pics of me, but this is the length my hair is now: http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...99098961_n.jpg
vs the length I want to get: http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto..._6052997_n.jpg
For a girls only thread there sure is a lack of girl on girl sex happening. WTF sweethearts, you need to fix this quick or I will ban you.

I had to Google search A-lineThis is how much I know about hair.
I only get my hair cut about once a year, so I think the A-line would look a little ridiculous when my hair grows out.
i spent a good portion of the weekend mending clothing. how the fuck do you mend a pair of pants that have a small hole on the seam of the crotch, but have lining that is not part of the hole. i guess i'm trying to say, the lining is intact on the inside of the pants, so how do i get to the outer layer to fix the seam? is this something a tailor could easily (cheaply) fix?
