I need to get on the Game of Thrones and Mad Men bandwagon too. Everyone tells me how great they are, but I'm already so far behind in everything.

I'll spoiler tag this one for Amy, but it's just me speculating.
Re: Girls anyone else think that Jessa's world traveler backstory is a big lie and that she hasn't been anywhere at all? there was a moment in the second episode that someone called her out on one of her stories about traveling being a movie plot and I started thinking that she was just a big fake. either way, I think there's something about her honestly that has me questioning.
"Jessa"? Is that what they think we're named now?

car talk. i don't know why i was thinking about this today, but the men on my project team keep talking about cars. i realized i don't have these conversations often with women.
- is your car paid off?
- vague type?
- are you knowledgeable about cars?
- examples of what you think is knowledge?
- how old were you when you first learned to drive? (on a road with other drivers or more than just driving in a parking lot once or twice)
i'll start
- yes
- 2-door sedan, manual transmission
- not really
- i can put in oil and could probably change a tire. i "took*" auto
(*took, defined as playing tarot cards with the only other girl in the class. and cutting disc breaks on a machine.)- 12
yes
scion tC, 2 door coupe, manual (last manual I'll ever own since my next car will be EV/Hybrid)
not really, unless my sirius xm counts.
changing oil, how the car stuff works (engine, transmission), performance.
I guess 15, but the first time I drove on a road with people was 13 or 14 but it was just a few blocks, twice.
i'm much more used to manual and i love it, but being stuck in traffic today made me realize how annoying it can be. i erased a rant there, but it took me four times longer than normal to get to work today.
I hate those commutes, too. I've even burned a clutch out in traffic once when I was going up a long hill in traffic. Every car I've ever owned has been a manual but I'm kind of over it at this point in my life, though my main thinking is just that manuals are a dying bread.
1. Yes, and I am trying to hold out as long as possible before taking on another payment.
2. Honda Element, or as my friends refer to it, my box.
3. Not at all, I fainted when they taught us how to change a tire, I don't even really know how to check the oil, I would probably put oil in my transmission fluid spot if left up to me.
4. I was 13 and my mothers ex would let each of us drive the back roads in Oregon when he took us fishing.
no, i just got a new car last year
jetta 4-door sedan, manual transmission
no
i can take my car to the shop. i have changed a tire once in my life.
i got my license when i was 16, and the first driving i had ever done prior to that was in the behind-the-wheel driver's training when i was 15.
i'm a terrible driver, just terrible. i get very nervous on the road & especially when i have other people in my car. i think it comes from not driving in SF all the time and then moving to LA and having to drive to get anywhere.
I've had the same car since 1997, a Saturn (which is not made anymore) . It was my first new car and I have never had the heart to give it up, since it runs great and only has 150000 kms on it (I hardly ever drive to work). However the manual door locks and windows have caused me some embarrassment on a few occasions.
.6 miles in a km.
1. Yes
2. Mazda CX-7
3. I know to take it in when a light comes on!
4.
5. 15.
No. Car talk is douchey. Even amongst men. It should be common cool knowledge for 10 min. Any more talk on the subject is redic.
I'm not saying women shouldn't know about cars but sometimes and most of the time gear heads are fucking morons. Top Gear bbc is the exception.

I was woken up this morning with the most excrutiating cramps, it woke me up out of a dead sleep, it almost felt like labor pains going all the way into my back. I was almost crying so I went and hid in the bathroom because my tossing and turning was about to wake up nick. I finally went back to bed and curled up in the fetal position and was able to get another 10 minutes of sleep before the alarm went off. I very nearly called into work this morning but didn't want to try to explain to my male dominated office that I had to stay home for cramps. I am eating advil like they are candy and all I want to do is go home and take a couple muscle relaxers.
If I just say I am sick they assume it means I am either still drunk or too hungover, then I have to hear that shit. So yea, a reason is necessary with these boys I work with. But none of them are even here so it doesn't even matter. The advil is starting to help but it's still pretty miserable. I was talking to the lady I work with and she said that sounds kind of like kidney stones. I hope that isn't the case and it is just cramps. I am going to finish my billing that I have to do and then head out.
In other news, my sister got my resume in front of someone at APS, cross your fingers for me.
I absolutely hate looking for new doctors. Every time I try to randomly choose or decide based only on their location, name or gender I seem to choose the most unhelpful doctors. I'm trying to actually do a little bit of research into where they went to school and how long they've been in practice before calling them up, but it's just too overwhelming. I just need a GP!!
I have a local GP doctor that I've seen in the past, but I didn't exactly like her attitude about many things I was talking to her about so I stopped going. Plus her husband who also shares the practice really creeped me out one day when he decided to give me an impromptu "exam" while reviewing lab work.
Now, I have a laundry list of stuff to get done before September and I think it's too much for my Endo to coordinate, especially since we're about 40 miles apart.
