alright ladies, i need to know the going rate for brazilians. im not talking about the cost, im talking about the pain. scale of 1-10, whatd it be? who has had one? who cried? who loves it?

What I do is get a really thick-bottomed saucepan or pot. The fill the bottom with a thin layer of oil (I really like olive oil for the taste, but use whatever you like). Heat on medium heat for a couple of minutes until the oil is viscous and you can tell that it's hot. Then, add corn kernels. But the trick is that you can only have one layer, so don't add too much. You can shake it a bit so they sit evenly across the bottom of the pot but they should all be touching the bottom. Then, cover the pot and let it sit on medium-low heat until the popping has stopped (or nearly stopped). No stirring should be required, although sometimes I pick up the pot and give it a few quick taps onto the burner with the lid still on, halfway through popping, just to make sure all the unpopped kernels have gotten to the hot bottom.

I'm going to try this tonight. I'm not sure if my pot has a thick enough bottom (tee-hee). We'll see. I also wanted to bump this wonderful thread.

The administrative assistant for my office at work is wearing sandals today and has a french pedicure. This is something that I never have understood. Why would you intentionally want to make it look like your toenails need to be cut? French manicures are cute, but french pedicures always look sort of icky to me.

Oh I can't do that stuff myself at all! I don't have a steady enough hand. But it's so cheap to go get them done, and they last for twice as long as when I do them at home. But that's very impressive if you have the skills to do it yourself. Do you buff down your nails and do base coat and everything?

My thighs are getting too big. I swear. I do like pigs though. I used to have one as a pet until she got too aggressive around my children--had to give Betty away.

Also, I learned a long time ago how to take care of my nails, but yeah, the nail polish usually only lasts a week. I think I'm too much of a perfectionist to let anyone else do my nails. Maybe I'll let someone else do it when I'm old and shaky.
