Good point. That's probably how the bride feels about it too, knowing her.

Squeaks, a good chunk of my dresses are from Anthropologie. Love the quality and fit of their clothes!

Ugh. The cute dress I bought for Coachella shrunk in the wash because I'm an idiot. I didn't even wear it. It's small enough now that I'd have to wear shorts with it. Tempted to just buy another....

How short is short? Like... long enough for me?

Columbia University Made a Sexual Violence Awareness Cake for the Ladies

    @ANNABAHR

Ivy League universities have come under fire lately for mishandling a number of rape cases. Columbia, at least, would like to say sorry — with a red, floral cake.

Anna Bahr tweets this image of a cake that was sitting in the Ferris dining hall at the university on Wednesday. Dining services is now removing the cake, according to Bahr.

This was, obviously, a bad idea. As Bahr tweets, "Red roses so perfectly capture the romance of sexual violence."

In December, three Columbia students claimed the university "dropped the ball" on investigating their allegations against a student athlete — two women accused him of rape, and one said he groped her. The student athlete hasn't been punished in any of these cases. One of the victims said, "I [still] see him everywhere, and he can come into my residence hall — he has access to all of the facilities that I do."

Earlier this month, a student group for sexual assault awareness accused the university of silencing one of their protests.

Yep, sale, sale, sale. The only Anthro dresses I own that were not bought on sale are two dresses my mom bought for me for my birthday and Christmas, and two dresses I bought myself that were on their less expensive side. I do love to fantasize about their $300 dresses a lot though.

Haircut day today. I am seriously thinking about having most of it shaved (instead of textured) really short. I guess I'm feeling nostalgic for my shaved head of years past. I may feel differently when I'm actually sitting in the chair, though. We shall see.

When my stylist mentioned Miley Cyrus' shaved head, that pretty much drove the idea right out of mine. Short and textured - again - it is.

Yeah, at age 51, I don't think conjuring up comparisons to Miley with my hairdo would be such a good thing.

Why would they compare you to Miley? Women have shaved their hair before her and they will after.

I (kinda) shaved mine a few years ago, into an asymmetrical cut, where I still had longer hair in the front, but it was shaved in the back. I loved it! It was great for summer and traveling. Growing it out was a bit difficult though....

Thanks, Courtney! Really appreciate these links and can't wait to go through them. I toyed with the thought of using RtR as well, just hadn't really taken a look there. You're right though, probably a really good idea since I doubt I will ever wear this dress again but I don't want to get some cheap dress for my good friend's wedding!

I know that a lot of women swear by their IUD, but I am so glad I got that thing out of my body. The problem is the only thing that is available to me for birth control is condoms (or sterilization).

Courtney I'd make a visit to your Gyno if I were you. This sounds like possible fibroid issues to me.

Technically in most cases the women were filing for divorce, but it was because the men were not providing enough support for them, according to the article.

Has anybody heard about this bill?

    Summary: H.R.1975 113th Congress (2013-2014)

There is one summary for this bill. Bill summaries are authored by CRS.

    Shown Here:
    Introduced in House (05/14/2013)

Pregnant Workers Fairness Act - Declares it an unlawful employment practice for employers, employment agencies, labor organizations, and other specified entities to: (1) fail to make reasonable accommodations to known limitations related to the pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions of job applicants or employees, unless the accommodation would impose an undue hardship on such an entity's business operation; (2) deny employment opportunities based on the need of the entity to make such reasonable accommodations; (3) require such job applicants or employees to accept an accommodation that they choose not to accept; or (4) require such employees to take leave if another reasonable accommodation can be provided to their known limitations.
Sets forth enforcement procedures and remedies under the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Congressional Accountability Act of 1995, Government Employee Rights Act of 1991, and the rights and protections extended to presidential offices.
Directs the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to issue regulations to carry out this Act, including the identification of reasonable accommodations addressing known limitations related to pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions.

Did they draw it? Regardless, it's awesome.

I got perfume today. I asked for some, but I didn't have any specific scent in mind. Jim and Izzy picked this one out, and it's really nice. I rarely wear perfume, but a few weeks ago we were going out and I felt like smelling pretty. I realized that I hadn't had a fragrance in years. This Jasmin Noir by Bvlgari makes me feel pretty.
