Maybe it's been covered before, but any tips for getting waxed for coachella?
Aw thanks dude.
Don't do it if it's your first time getting waxed. If you're a veteran, then I say go for it and aim for a Tuesday or Wednesday appointment so you have one day to heal but not too many days so you're starting to get irritation from hair growing back in.
why not if it's my first time? shaving is such a pain and I'd imagine it's associated with more irritation than waxing.
Waxing can be really irritating to your skin, especially the first time. Far more than shaving. I waxed my brows for the first time the day of an event, and ended up looking like a cro magnon. Red, swollen, sore. Not good. If your skin is irritated already and you come to festival and get hot and sweaty it could be be like a heat rash on your groin. That would make for a miserable weekend.
I definitely agree with ThatGirl, rashes in the desert are no fun. why not go in for a wax now-ish and see how your skin reacts and if your skin handles it well, you can wax again a few days before coachella?
maybe I'll try it now and then again for coachella. I dont typically have sensitive skin and I wax my eyebrows already and bounce back pretty quickly so hopefully it's the same. thanks ladies. also, any tips for pain besides taking advil ahead of time?
Waxing your eyebrows is nothing like getting bikini or brazilian waxes. Trust us.Eyebrow & leg waxing never gives me any issues, but bikini/brazilian seems to be more prone to irritation and in grown hairs. At this point, I wouldn't NOT wax for a festival, because it's so much easier than bringing shaving stuff, but definitely try it in advance. If you've never done it, you might consider starting now and going regularly, because if you do have irritation/bumps/etc, it tends to lessen with each subsequent wax.
I don't find it very painful. Take advil in advance, use numbing spray if the place has it (if they don't, you might consider buying your own to bring). Make sure the aesthetician is pulling your skin very taut, and if she is not, offer to help, because that cuts down on the sting of it a LOT.
I saw a super super super SUPER FOB girl today with a BAD ASS Marlboro purse and I tried to tell her how sick it was but she didn't understand me and I was like I DON'T EVEN THINK YOU UNDERSTAND YOUR OWN PURSE BITCH

Worthy input, B.
hahahahaha I only mentioned eyebrows because she said she waxed hers and she "ended up lookinh like cro magnon" I know they're different, that's why I asked. Like I said I get my brows done already but wanted other-region waxing advice.
I do really enjoy having a fresh leg wax and bikini wax when I go to Coachella. I have dry/sensitive skin, so not having to shave in the desert is a plus. I agree with what's been said already. Start waxing now so you can get through the irritation stage and then do if a couple days before Chella.
Oh look it stopped snowing...
Wow Cara. Did she pick up on your hostility? Lulz
You shoulda just taken her purse when she didn't get it.![]()

When I wax, the wax dries out my skin. I prefer threading and don't think it's that painful, but thats just me.

Oh yeah. I liked this last one while the two prior didn't thrill me. Sorry spoilers here.... I'm a bit annoyed that Hanna getting Adam thrown in jail hasn't even come up in conversation since it happened. I'm also displeased that Elijah had gotten the boot from the apartment. BUT the scene with Shoshana and Ray at the subway platform made me teary. I'm such a suck.
I haven't started the new season yet because I got hooked on Homeland. I watched the entire two seasons last month it was great. Is the second season of GIRLS pretty good?
