Ivy, I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but you might look at volunteermatch.com -- they have a listing of organizations looking for volunteers in each city/area, includes enough information that you should be able to look into the particular organization to see if their mission is something you'd want to support.

Battered women's shelter might be difficult to get into. Locations are kept private so that the abusers can't find them and such. You'd probably have to do interviews or something in order to volunteer there but if it's something you really want to do, it's definitely worth it. This is all speculation by the way. It was hard enough just donating to a battered women's shelter. My mom and I had a bunch of clothes we didn't wear anymore and we wanted to donate them and we had to contact our local police department and it took over a month or so for them to get back to us about the location and how to donate. I think by that point we had done something else with the clothes assuming we weren't going to be able to donate to them.

What about volunteering for a local politician who supports women's rights?

Or you could volunteer for something like the Girl Scouts and start co-opting the conservative message while they're still young.
