This is why I hate shopping. My pants ripped at work today and I had to go buy pants at ross on my lunch. In my size they carry either granny jeans or jeans styles not meant for women my size and neither are made for a woman with a booty. The one pair I found that fit my rear were fucking skinny legged jeans... Big girls should not wear skinny legged jeans. So I spent $20 I didnt have on a pair of jeans I will never wear again. if I wash them can I return them?

Don't wash them and you should be able to return them with receipt and tags.

I'm fat and I wear skinny jeans. I pretty much operate on the principle that everyone can wear what they want as long as they're ok with being silently judged, and since I give nary a shit about being silently judged, it works out pretty well.

If you wash them, don't return them. If you wear them, Don't return them unless it is a straight up quality issue. I understand the emergency need to grab any pair of pants to cover your ass after yours ripped, but as someone who works in retail..... wearing and returning is a big no no. I mean you can do it if the store's policy where you bought them will allow you, but most stores frown upon that. And any associate you deal with is gonna judge you harshly. Seriously one of the top 10 retail pet peeves. If you wear them and try to return them, at least wash them first, cause no one wants to handle someone elses dirty laundy. Washing it will however make it very obvious the item was worn as new clothes never smell like detergent. We can always tell you've washed something. Wearing, not washing, and trying to return, is gross, sorry but it is. Also we can usually tell if something has been worn for more than just trying on purposes as there will be creases behaind the knees, or store pressed pleats will be flattened out, or dirt marks on the bottom of the pants if you are short and they have dragged on the floor at all. Of course any obvious staining will let them know right away and is just sloppy.

You may still have no issue returning them in this state based on the leniency of each stores interpretation of the return policy and/or the competency of the associate doing the return (which at this point with new holiday hires in most stores may be low anyways), so it's your call if you wanna try it still.

Sorry about your 20 bucks, but I would just keep them and try to sell them on ebay or something.

Sorry for the rant, but I work retail, and it's the holidays. There is a lot of Gross going on out there right now...

You bought the product, you used the product. You shouldnt return it unless there was an actual quality problem with the item. You made the decision to spend the money. The store shouldnt have to potentially damage out an item, because you needed to borrow a pair of pants for a few hours.

And yes, I work at a store where we would damage out an item if there was any question of it even being worn, because it is unfair for the next customer to pay full price for something that was used and returned. I wouldnt want to buy something someone had worn around and done god knows what in. Not saying anything specific about Loca, I am sure you're a lovely clean person. But still.

at radioshack, we would wrap returned items in shrink wrap, but normally they were not wrapped in shrink wrap if they were new. never made any sense because people would purposefully pick the boxes with shrink wrap.

I have and would go the staple route if I was that hard up for cash and needed an emergency repair. I have also hand sewn a rip in a skirt once at work. Rather than buy something I didnt have the money for.

I have no problem with people returning shit they think is fucking ugly, as long as they hadnt worn it first. Trust me my store sells plenty of ugly, ill fitting clothes that get returned and yes that is the fault of our buyers for doing a shitty job. We'll take that loss. But once you wear it, it's yours. I've gotten stuck with plenty of clothes that I've worn once and they didnt fit right or wear as well as they should have but once that tag is off, I'd never take it back. Just a personal belief. But I do have quite a thriving EBAY business reselling shit that I didn't like. So I usually make up my losses on the other side.

Well, no, that's not correct. You can't always tell whether or not something is going to suck just from wearing it for two minutes. I've had shirts that felt fine at first but after several hours I realized were brutally uncomfortable or itchy or ill-fitting or fucking whatever. And I don't take anything personally. I have worked in retail for about 9 non-consecutive years, previously in a small shop owned by a husband and wife who counted every item returned as a personal loss, and now in a mid-level mall brand store where we damage out about an average of 200 dollars of merchandise a day. Will this have a major impact on the company... not in the slightest. But that doesnt change how I feel about wearing and returning merchandise.

Booked an appointment to bleach & tone my hair...I'm hoping they can get it light enough in one go so that I can do my pastel on top of it (dye's in the mail!), but I highly doubt it since I'm starting from reeeeeally dark hair. Ah well, I can bleach it again myself in a couple weeks if I need to.
