Oh no, she definitely grabbed my boobs and adjusted them around in the bras. She just never used a measuring tape and eyed me to get the best size.
I would not be able to handle that. No one touches me boobs except my man and my gyno. And I don't really like the gyno doing that.
it's s allll in the skin....jstt saying cr*****
I am starting to think that I should go and get sized now! I Have been a 36D since high school, but now I am thinking I might be bigger? I have always felt like my bras fit well, but if you guys didn't know you were a D maybe I am wrong?
I'm pretty positive I'm an A. Hard to mis-size that one.
I just don't understand how someone who is a D could mis-size herself as a B. Is there extra flesh on the side that you're missing? Maybe what I'm saying is TMI. Sorry HtD. I buy bras once every few years.
im confused by that too. b to d ?

You can still to fit into a B if you're a D, just not right. The cups/wires just won't touch your body all the way in a B. Also, like Ivy said, the band size make a difference too. Wearing the right size bra makes all the difference!
edit: gross, "you can be able"??? terrible grammar
Sorry I posted in the girls thread. Just wanted to say sure we all like looks, but late at night, just to touch, you gals have no idea lolz..... cr****
i used to be 36c. then getting so small over the last year i tried 34c.. too big. then i tried 36b too big. then i tried 34c too big then i tried 34b, those fit for a while now they are too small. i got some boob spillage. i just assume im in between sizes. maybe im a 35 B +. lol

Yes. You're trying to find the closest fit of band size and cup size. The band size impacts not just the width of the bra/underbust bands but also how much volume there is in the cups of the bra. Compare a 32D and a 36D, for example. They are both D cups but the actual cup of the 36D will be much bigger in comparison to the 32D. Since the volume of the cup goes up with each band size, there is sometimes a closer relationship of band sizes that are next to each other rather than just the cup size. Meaning, a 36C and 34D would fit more similarly on the boobs than a 36C and a 38C.
The best bet really is to go get fitted by someone who knows what they're doing. Short of that, there are some general rules of thumb to follow... the band of a new bra should be snug. When fastened on the first set of hooks, you should be able to fit one only finger under the band between your breasts. If it's looser than that, it's too big. The band has to be snug in order to give the correct amount of support - the majority of support should be from the band not from the straps (if the straps are doing the work, you will most likely end up with neck and shoulder pain, and also have straps that move around and need to be adjusted as you move). The bra will stretch as it is worn more, and it will end up being too big even on the tightest set of hooks/eyes. The band of the bra should be straight all the way around on your body -- if it is pulling up higher in the front or (more usually) the back, the band is too big. The pulling up is caused by not having the proper support due to the band being too big. So, really the first step is getting the band size right.
Once you've done that, it's pretty easy to figure out the cup size. I think a lot of women buy the smallest cup size that they can cram their boobs into. I think it's easier to see fit with an underwire bra (whether or not you end up buying one). When fitting an underwire bra, the underwire should be completely outside of the curved parts of your breast. Meaning, the inside curve of the underwire should fit against your breastbone, and the outside curve of the underwire should be on the outside of your breast, not cutting into it. That will be a different place on everyone's body. On me, it's almost in my arm pit. It depends on how closely or widely set your breasts are. In a full coverage or normal coverage bra, your breasts should be completely inside the cup, .... I can't think of how to describe this but basically you shouldn't have any spot where it looks like the bra is squeezing your breasts (where the breast outside the bra is sticking out more than the edge of the bra... if that makes sense).
Bottom line: go get fitted.
A lot of you have met me, I wear a 36F right now, for perspective. That's a big bra size but it's not like... porno breast implant size. I think your perception of how big each bra size is is based on a lot of people wearing the wrong size. The first couple of times I was fitted were revelations for me. I used to wear like 38C or 40C's, and they didn't quite fit, the straps dug into my shoulders, was constantly having to adjust straps, etc. My bras that are the right size feel great despite being full of wires![]()

In my case, the brand/styles she brought me were for small breasted women; I doubt I'd be a 34D in other styles. Most likely a 34C.
I think what's important here is that the fitter is looking at the shape of your boobs, not just the size. I was very thin and flat, got very large boobs when I breastfed (and didn't wear a bra; I was sick of always undoing it... BIG MISTAKE), and then got thin and flat again, and then eventually gained weight and my size increased. So I don't have lovely full, firm breasts. They'e droopy (sorry TMI), and they don't fit properly in bras made for full breasted women (which is what the girl at Nordstrom kept bringing me). I never thought I'd be a 34D either, but they fit beautifully. I highly recommend getting fitted; now I know what size and style of bra I need, and it's not a lot of frustrating guesswork anymore.
For example, the top of the cups is rather low, so no cavernous open space above, and the straps are far off to the side, almost to my armpits:

I'm a 38DDD/F according to Nordstrom but it's totally bra-dependent. I actually feel like a lot of my current bras are too big in the band, and I should size down to a 36 (but then bump up the cup size again, arrrrrgh), but then some I try on at 38 and I can't even get 'em hooked. So there's no consistency at all.
Corinna, I pretty much only look at bras that have spandex-enhanced fabric for the back/sides of the band. 36's that are not stretchy are too tight, but 38's are too wide on the front of my body. Either I have a wide back or am exceptionally thick or something. Heh.
This whole page has been very informative!![]()
Being short means that if bra straps aren't fully adjustable, they are always too long and flopping off your shoulders. I guess the manufacturers assume there is more distance between a woman's shoulders and her boobs than I actually have. When I bra shop it's actually quite frustrating as many bra straps are fixed or only adjust part way up the strap.
Related to all this bra talk... I was on Victoria's Secret's site this morning to buy a pair of pajamas, and took a quick look to see if they have yet started offering larger bra (cup) sizes. Looks like they have much more stuff in DD and DDD than they used to.
However, when looking, noticed that practically all of the styles that only go to D or DD have models that don't fit into their bras at all. Boobs spilling out on all sides. (If you're thinking that is a purposeful fit decision made for sexiness, I'll counter that boobs overflowing into armpits is not attractive even on a half naked model).
They have DDD now? Hmmmm. I'm not into their bras - they're pretty low quality and weirdly-fitting for being the preeminent undergarment purchasing option - but I'd be into it if they were cheap enough for just like, every day I-don't-give-a-shit wear.
They do in some styles. I've purchased some of the cotton ones in the past to wear lounging around in the house when I have company or might have to answer the door instead of going braless.
Speaking about boobs... I wasn't going to bring it up but since y'all did....
I feel like the more I work out the saggy-er my boobs are getting. My chest is getting nicely toned but my tits are starting to fall lower and lower.
Does wearing a sports bra while you sleep help? Maybe I should NOT rip my bra off first thing when I close my bedroom door.
hi sunni
i'd say that unless you have a really nice sports bra that doesn't essentially squish your boobs, just use a normal bra. i almost always have a bra on. i'm terrified of sagging.
also, i got two pairs of cute sleep shorts on clearance at dillards for $2 each. not bad.
There is no scientific proof that wearing a bra prevents sagging. Common medical wisdom says that sagging occurs when microligaments in your chest thin and stretch as a normal result of old age, and there isn't a proven way to keep these ligaments taut.
However, that said, have you seen the breasts of women from tribal cultures where they walk around all day topless. I feel like the extent of the saggage in those cases must mean SOMETHING.
