Do any of you ever get wacky (not like regular wacky. like shit you didn't even know you could think up wacky) dreams the week before your period? It happens to me every time. I've come to call them The Ovulation Series. I tell Steve about some of them and he becomes confused and wonders what "they" did with the real me.

I have weird-ish dreams normally. Serial stories that continue over the course of several nights, like a sitcom. Also, I can somewhat control what I dream about if I think about it while I'm going to sleep. It rules hardcore.

But what sort of uber-weird things are you talking about, Alma?

Interesting. Never made the connection, but it seems spot on.

I dreamt the other night that I was in a house that was flooding, and I had to get out all the pharmaceuticals before they got "ruined."

I started my period today.

I like that haircut.

For liquid eyeliner, I used MAC Fluidline. It's a gel and it comes in a little pot in a million different colors. But I only ever use black. It doesn't smudge, and it looks super hot.

Martinis are not inherently sissyish. A ice-cold, good quality gin martini, nice and dirty, is excellent. But it's all that fruit flavoring crap that has got to go.

When I wear eyeliner, it's Smashbox cream eyeliner in Midnight Brown, applied with an angled brush. Usually after that I put on an Urban Decay copper that I love, because I have green eyes and they work nicely together. Sometimes I also wear smashbox clear photo finish primer as well, which you're meant to put things on top of, but I don't do powder or foundation or concealer any of that stuff. I'm pretty much eyes-only when it comes to makeup.


And I'll take a beer or a vodka and cranberry.

* i have weird dreams the week before as well. i had one dream the other night that my grandma had lost her mind (which she did) and i was at my parent's house, stuck taking care of her and it was overwhelming. the next night i had a dream it was my mom and it was also overwhelming. wonder what that means.

Oh snap. Jan Spears is a conniving bitch/kidnapper/I think murderer. Awesome. She kidnapped Belle's long-time love (fiance, maybe) and brainwashed him into thinking that he loved her instead. And, she kept him in a cage. And it was totally a sex cage.

She didn't seem any more emotional, and she said she felt totally normal. Although I'd imagine it effects everyone differently.

This literally happened like seven days ago, so I'm not sure if she has had her period yet.

Well, regularly I dream about people I recognize in one form or another in situations that are believable to me even in my dream. Also, upon waking they tend to fade away.

The Ovulation Series, however, tends to be super realistic in quality and yet completely ridiculous in storyline. They are vivid, and I can describe, in minute detail, what happened in the dream for an hour or more afterward. But that could well be just me. Uber-weird dreams include, but are not limited to, examples of the following:

- Most recent: Cleaning of my high school gymnasium under watch of extremely grumpy grounds keeper, shifts into beginnings of a family reunion, but suddenly becomes saga of pregnant 5-yr-old girl who was raped by her father (stunning reveal at the end, movie-style). This dream had a sequel in which the father attempted to kill the daughter (by this time in her teens) for destroying his life.

- Going on wild adventures similar to those demonstrated in children's books, with the minor exception that all the characters are adults and the main bad guy is a tall, skinny man in a Speedo of some sort.

- Family car trips that include visits to underwater grave sites, lopped-off limbs, and a significant amount of doubt as to everyone else's sanity, regardless of the fact that I'm the one dreaming it.


In all, The Ovulation Series tends to be srsly bizarre and tends to be sexually charged in one form or another, even if it's unpleasantly so.

Dream, 4/21. "Ovulation series", if you will.

I was staying in a big house and I was going to go camping. There was a big group of people already at the camping place, but I was far away and I needed to get there, and it was up a big hill. Somehow it was decided that we would hire a pickup truck driver, and I would ride up in an armchair in the back of his truck bed.

I left with a friend and we stopped to get a video. When we came back outside, the station wagon I had been driving had a person in it who was messing with everything. They had turned the bench seat in the front around, and moved the brake pedal to the passenger side. I also think there was something wrong with the car that had to do with chickens, but I can't recall.

So we decided to drive the car home anyway, with me pressing the gas and whomever the friend was pressing the brake. It was a bumpy ride, but we made it home.

All of a sudden, I was back in high school. It was a sort of superhighschool. Several stories and a student lounge that looked like a restaurant. I went into the bathroom with aforementioned friend, even though there were no toilets, just stalls. Then these two guys came in and for some reason we were terrified of them, and so we took off running and there was a chase all around the school, which was somehow attached to the big house I had been staying in earlier. There was a lot of running up and down stairs. I ended up in the restaurant.

In the restaurant area, there were some areas of the floor that were not safe to walk on. I kept accidentally running on them, and then getting in trouble with who I guess was the principal. I finally managed to lose the people who were chasing me, so I hung out in the restaurant a bit. There was a little display of some chocolates that were for sale, so I went over to buy some. A girl came up who had some ridiculous name that I was pretty sure was Praline or something like that, so, trying to be friendly, I said "hello, praline!" and she got all huffy and grabbed a bag of chocolates and said, "My name is Chiffon!" and then she stormed off. I then saw another girl I knew and said "man, that chiffon girl is SUCH a snob". and then I woke up.

My friend took plan B. She felt like shit for almost a week. I think for the first couple days she hardly ever left her room. She didn't seem all that emotional, which was REALLY surprising, considering how she got into the situation in the first place.
